Ditto. Primary filter is likely clogged. The engine sucks the fuel out of the secondary filters and runs out until the fuel can soak through the primary filter and refill the secondaries.

I've never seen them for sale. They'd be worth something to someone who's really worried about a flat tire on their HMMWV but I'd guess most HMMWV owners wouldn't find it worth the effort to install. A spare tire is simpler.

There's a ton of stuff. I think there are some threads in the HMMWV forum. It's still a huge and messy debate about the auctions and what the details may or may not be. Several threads have been closed lately due to wild speculation.

I had a clogged primary filter on my deuce and it did the same thing. If you stop for a few minutes does it seem to run again for a few miles?

The hype gives people an unrealistic idea of what owning the trucks is about. They are awesome but they require good judgement and a mature driver.

My deuce was rebuilt by the military in 1985. The odometer said 42k when I got it. As mentioned above, the speedo may have been changed so who knows if it's right or not. (I think mine is original.)The best thing is to 1-research, 2-find an experienced member near you who can show you the ropes...
