About to pickup my first M715. Learn me things.

Of course I am. It's just that I have a very sensitive nature and conflict tends to make me retreat into my shell and not be an extrovert. No one wants that.

About to pickup my first M715. Learn me things.

For some reason TexAndy's posts seem to be attracting a lot of negative waves. If this keeps up it's going to seriously harsh my mellow.

I'll just drink the beer you left in the shop fridge. You didn't want that, did you?

I'm not planning on keeping this so don't want to put any more money into it. I have been thinking about that for my MEP003 though.

Okay she finally started! That's when I found all of the leaks :( Not sure if I didn't get the oil filter o-ring set when I swapped the filter or what but I lost about a quart and a half just running it for a few minutes. The wife is not going to be happy when she sees the driveway. Also the...

Bypassed everything and tried starting it this morning. Got white smoke while it was cranking and the couple of times it tried catching it belched a few clouds of black smoke. Oil pressure stayed steady once it came up but could never get it to catch fully.

I thought it'd be more entertaining for everyone to see me floundering around.

"On our latest episode of As the Earth Rotates..." Pulled the petcock out of the filter housing with the broken bolt and put a pipe plug in it then closed the upper opening with a 3/8" bolt. Used a ratcheting tiedown strap to tighten the canister up against the o-ring hoping that would apply...

"if it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all" Well things went from bad to worse. I got both filters in and was just tightening them down when the canister bolt on the 1st filter broke it's spot weld. I don't think there's any way to fix that and since not too many people have seen one...

Only 1 o-ring and it wasn't particularly large. Hopefully have it together this afternoon and give it whirl.

Weren't we supposed to get DVD copies of that? I still haven't seen it (or Sarge) in all it's glory.

Yep. My guess is spring, 0-ring, plate - then the filter - and then the last spring. It looks like the o-ring is sized to fit inside the raised part of the plate. I just hope it uses the same filters since I've already bought them. Worst thing that can happen is it sprays diesel all over the...

That is not the strainer. That is the filter canister closest to the oil filter. The other filter canister has the same set up. Instead of the flow through bolt on a normal set up this has the bolt inside the canister sticking up through and attached with that hexagonal nut on top of the...

I'd be interested in knowing what the pay rate is also. I have a fully stock M35A2 with cargo cover in 3 color camo. Last time someone wanted to rent it they were only willing to pay $100/day plus wanted to paint it tan. I told them fine as long as we had a 90 day contract. They passed.

Here's a bit of a different set up than I've seen on the filter housings. Both are the same, i.e. bottom spring, o-ring, metal plate, then top spring. Does the plate go on top of the filter? Below the filter? Take it out and throw it away?

    Dats how we roll!

A die-cast is more expensive than the original.

The 1st unit was purchased for the inlaws and they're picking it up on Tuesday. I'd rather not take the chance of screwing something up where it wouldn't be running when they got here. I've been in the family for 23 years but that doesn't mean they wouldn't try and replace me.
