    MEP002A Priming

Thanks Bob. DH probably has the best advice. Worst case scenario is I blow it up and burn the shop down.

    MEP002A Priming

Is there any work around on priming a MEP generator other than the fluid passage bolts on top of the filter canisters? I bought a couple out of Ft Hood and got one running without too much grief but when I went to swap filters on the 2nd I found that they had swapped out the original bolts with...

    New V-100

You could always just use a M37 in front as a chock block :) Although I am not volunteering for the job. (PS bet you can't identify my avatar)

    I've Had a Good Run...

Well the engine was cranking while I was trying to bleed the filter (with a non-exitant lift pump) so I'll go out on a limb and say "yes."

    I've Had a Good Run...

If you can be here by 1700 tonight I'll let it go. Otherwise TexAndy is coming up tomorrow to help me throw some more money down the rat hole with a new pump.

    I've Had a Good Run...

Doesn't help me as I'd have to give both of them to Warthog.

It ought to be worth at least a tow bar.

    I've Had a Good Run...

And Wreckerman's possum logic is proven correct once again. Tried bleeding the system and wasn't getting diddly so crawled under to tap on the tank and it was drier than a bone. Added about 4 gallons of diesel (another $15 invested in this POS) and tried again. Still nothing. Started tracing...

    I've Had a Good Run...

Small glimmer of hope today. I got the batts swapped out, turned the key and got all the warning/idiot lights lit up, turned the key and....nada. No relay click at all. Ran to NAPA to get a relay to do the DH mod and had to wait half a day for them to get one to the store, got it home, was in...

    MEP002a Oil filter leaking

I'm having a different leak issue. Oil seepage around the filter housing bolt. Seems to be tight and I'm concerned with "over-tightening" it and causing even more leakage.

    I've Had a Good Run...

I'm willing to make the trade if you're willing to swing the transport. I don't want to sink another penny in this other than getting the title for it.

    I've Had a Good Run...

Well I got all of the negative waves from yesterday out of my system. Once a month the wife and I take a load of donations to Fisher House and today was the day. I can't go in there without feeling truely blessed by the men and woman of our armed forces. I spoke with a mother who has been there...

    I've Had a Good Run...

If the rust stopped at the rockers I'd do it but my bet is it's way into the floor too.

    I've Had a Good Run...

Not enough space to get deeper. Just goes to show how American Steel (lock) is superior to Chinese steel (junk bolt cutters). Thanks to everyone for pointing out the positives. The body (other than the roof and custom brush guard) is actually in pretty good shape. I had luck getting one of...

    I've Had a Good Run...

...but things finally catch up with you. I've been lucky in my CUCV purchases. Worst one was a M1009 that GL modified not only the driveshaft but the transfer case as well. Other than that I've bought 5 CUCVs sight unseen and always came out fairly well. Until now. Picked up my latest...

Doesn't take much to stick my 1031

Since Keith is an engineer I'm sure he can tell without the equation.
