My friend that collects these (he has 6) is in Normandy right now touring the D-Day beach sites. I'll contact him when he gets back and find out who he deals with. My understanding is he has a seller (in CO I believe) that imports a lot of these. He has a trailer for one of his bikes but I...
You might see if you can just purchase the Nostalgic Air compressor bracket. I would think that'd be one of the cheaper parts of the kit and a lot easier than trying to spec it out yourself. Everything else is easy enough to get elsewhere.
If not, I'll probably be getting one of these kits...
That would be fairly difficult as it's about 2.5 hour drive (one way) for me to Ft Hood. That and I'd have to flat tow it as the dually won't fit on my trailer. If it was at Ft Sam, wouldn't be a problem but... There are a couple of folks around the Ft Hood area that might be able to pick it up...
If I pay GL the taxes then I just make sure to show that when I register it. In the end I only pay it once so it doesn't really matter to me who handles it as long as I don't get hit twice.
A friend in ID told me the same thing. Dept of Lands tried transferring them to the Guard and when they wouldnt take them said they'd be auctioned off. Something must have just come down the line and we could be seeing a flood of Goats.
One of our local MVPA members has several of these. He has tons of accesories as well including a trailer for hauling mortar or artillery shells (I believe). They do weigh much more than I'd care to take for a very long ride especially through the Swiss Alps.
I went $500 over my self-imposed limit because the wife was sitting there telling me to keep going. My concern were the unknowns of drive-train condition and the known factors of the visible body part damages. The 1028 I bought looks just about perfect body wise other than the brush guard...
Well you can thank me for what you got it for (and of course why you didn't get it cheaper). I had to settle for a non-dually as yours got too rich not knowing anything about it. Hopefully the tow bar is still there when you pick it up. I tried for the one without the bed too but again...
Those are the starting bid prices. They still haven't actually had any auctions start yet so everything you see is what they're starting out at. Most of the trailers are starting over what a lot have been bringing on GL.
What it's likely to mean is a lot of repeat auctions when someone realizes they have to come up with that amount in cash and wire it directly from their bank and either can't or their spousal unit won't allow it. My guess is they're not going to be able to sustain those prices. There is a...
It will also weed out an awful lot of people who could afford to buy these trucks as a hobby to do living history events, car shows, Veteran's parades, etc. I'll dump $10k into a true "classic"" vehicle such as a restored Vietnam or earlier truck because it has current historical value. While...
While I'm not talking about a specific auction or a specific date or a specific location (hope that clears the discussion hurdle), $10k starting bid for a non-running vehicle? Kiss My... Time to start looking for a 151 and forget any more surplus.
