Glad you made it back safe! I have heard many times that double towing short trailers is a no-no. Longer ones seem to work a lot better. Did you have the option to stack them when you picked them up?
15.5s or 395s can rub the underside of the bed on a deuce if you carry enough weight and flex it out enough. I know, I have done it. For most applications you should not have a problem.
To my knowledge the most common miltary use for the is the m1076 trailer. I believe the max speed for the pls is 56mph so I would feel really comfortable up to or about that speed. I think michelin rates them for about that speed too. Above that speed, I would rather be on radials than old...
Those firestones look great, but I would expect a difference of 5/8" - 1" as well. From the comparison pic, it does look like there is more visible space between the bumper and the axles. A tape measure would tell us for sure how much bigger the firestones are!

2. The M919 chassis is rated for 75,000 GVW so it will handle the weight a lot better than a 5 ton. Would you use the 5 ton cab or the M919?
