Mine does it in 1st trying to get it in 2nd some times.If it starts to rock its a crap shoot to get it in 2nd.Its judging clutch release and the throttle.When the truck pulls good in 1st it goes in good.It seems like its got a lot of slack in 1st.I get a little rock in reverse.

You might check the fuel pressure.It sounds like a fuel problem.Or turbo:beer:

Now I have alot of low end torque,it pulls hard now at lower RPMs.When I get to around 2100 on,its not as noticeable on power.It pulls hard in all gears at lower RPMs.fat lady sings

I think I just got lucky that mine was turned down like it was.
