We have started a small rally at the D-Day Adventure Park in Oklahoma. It is small but more people come each year. As stated above, a good location and getting the word out are key.
Sorry for the late response. I keep the lid off when operating so there's lots of room for air to circulate. I made sure to leave plenty of space between the gear and the case for airflow.
Thick deck is a good thing. The engine may have been rebuilt just because the truck went through the rebuild process. That more of a guess. Someone will know for sure.
