Sounds like a fluid problem, check level in master cylinder, look for leaks.

Yes, do it! These kinds of problems seem to come in batches. Terminal lug on the ground cable from the starter to frame cracked and melted off on mine, among other things.

The way to own a deuce is to have the knowledge and facilities/other trucks to repair and move them yourself...or buddies with them. ;-) If you have those, you're good to go, if you don't, it can be expensive. I see guys who store their XXX miles away and have to pay others to store/move/work...

They are no less reliable than anything their age. All about maintenance.
