Agree. I think that's why mine wouldn't start after sitting 20 years. I recommend soaking with kroil or whatever before startup.
But why do they sometimes fall off when the truck is being driven regularly? Debris in fuel? Chunk of filter media or even fibers maybe could wedge the plunger.
Also, I have a wrecking yard with a few deuces not far from me but never checked for dual circuits.

Try Jack. He rebuilds and sells the trucks, maybe he'd like to upgrade the brakes on the ones he sells. I know he's concerned about liability. You might mention me from El Centro, he might remember me. He has about 1000 deuces...
I'm good up to 90 in the deuce. After that, forget it. Not worth it.
I could go west into the mountains and then north through them to avoid the heat but that will take even longer. I'd have to take Friday and Monday off just to get there and back.
I'm planning to come. Read about it on facebook from Bearret Pemberton. Not sure if I'll bring my deuce as it's about 8 hr drive and it will be triple digit temps for most of the trip.

He also has instructions on his site, and I'm sure there are TMs out there as well. Main and 2nd can be changed with the trans in the truck...
