    Are prices going up?

I'm going to be picking up a 923 in the near future. It's getting to the point where I can hardly drive the deuce any more (MS related muscle weakness). I can hardly drive the wife's M37 either. Having an automatic and power steering will make sure I can remain active in this hobby hopefully...

    2014 Annual Texas MV Rally

For the 3rd year in a row I'm going to "try and make it." I can't drive the deuce that far and back in one weekend so I'm shooting for acquiring a 923 before then. IF I get the 923 and IF it checks out within the time frame and IF it looks like the weather will cooperate for that length of...

    rust in the fuel system

GL forklift modification? My deuce had the exact same adjustment. Luckily it wasn't bad enough to keep me from driving it for about a year but finally started leaking at that spot so I did the same repair.

    Code Enforcement Threat

The real problem is that he is living inside the city limits of San Antonio (and would be a similar issue inside the city limits of Austin, Houston, Dallas, etc.). While most of the population of TX is conservative the "non-conservative" masses all congregate in these little islands of "I want...

923a2 won't shift out of neutral

Had to google that one. I just call mine ma'am.

923a2 won't shift out of neutral

Straight from the -24 Troubleshooting section: 29. NO RESPONSE TO SHIFT LEVER MOVEMENT Step 1. Check transmission fluid level (TM 9-2320-272-10). Drain or fill fluid as necessary (LO 9-2320-272-12). Step 2. Check for broken or disconnected shift cable. If broken or disconnected, notify DS...

New Deuce owner and need help with trailer hook up to deuce

Welcome from a neighbor just north of you. I'd suggest LED lights on the trailer and you can adapt pigtail plug that fits the deuce on one end to a civi plug on the other end. My question would be isn't a backhoe an awful lot of weight to be hauling with no trailer brakes? I thought in TX...

The Chieftain Arrives! Or the travails of moving armor...

Sounds like you need a HET now (and a bunch of 998s for flag vehicles of course).

Steel Soldiers MV of the month - February VOTE HERE!

Let's see, Papabear gave me a tour of the Infantry museum and bought me lunch, wsucourgarx bought parts from me, airbornebandsman is local and I see him all the time...tough decision. Anyone want to throw some money my way for the vote? Oh, yeah. Already voted. But there's always next month...

23rd ARIZONA MILITARY VEHICLE SHOW JANUARY 25-26, 2014

As big as TX is and we can't get something like this going? Temple is just about center of the state so I'd like to see everyone turn out for the Temple Air Show May 2-4. If we had half the turn out you guys had it would be a heck of a show.

Hub Studs Sheared Off - Wrecker - Texas

Thanks but I'm sure I can find a cheaper local alternative than you driving from LA for 1 truck.

Hub Studs Sheared Off - Wrecker - Texas

Guess I'm looking for an alternative vehicle recovery. Glad he was able to get on the road though.

Closer to 1300 I believe but no less daunting.

Hub Studs Sheared Off - Wrecker - Texas

Anyone get word from Jeepsinker? I'm sure he's got more on his mind than updating here but I'm on the edge of my seat wondering how he's getting along.

    Working on the MKT

ROUGH MKT-90 just closed at Ft Sam for $3k. No burners, no pots, no utensils, missing one of the stairs, travel cover ragged, and basically less than desirable. For a few dollars more I'd have sold them my MKT-99 with burners, mermites, a TITLE and the whole nine yards. Hope no one here got...

    San Antonio Living History Event

Well just got word that due to some "unforeseen" event this has been cancelled for 2014. I don't think I want to keep bumping the thread all the way to 2015 so we'll just let it go at that :)

Hub Studs Sheared Off - Wrecker - Texas

He's supposed to be picking one up for me at Hood Tell him if he makes it that far he can rob what parts he needs from mine to keep him on the road. He may be swapping parts left and right but beats being stranded.

    Many thanks to Jeepsinker!

Great to hear! He'll be dropping my M923A2 off next week. Maybe I can buy him lunch to point out any major issues that might not be obvious to a newby 5 ton owner.

    M931A2 won't start

I read the forums for both knowledge and entertainment value and found both in this thread. I just purchased a M923A2 and while it has a single tank I still gleaned a lot of info from the discussion. Asking questions shouldn't be a sin, especially if you've read the TMs. Unfortunately I've...
