I've been running the Wal Mart 2 cycle TCW-3 oil in my Dodge dually 1 ton for over 3 years now. Still the same injector pump at approaching 170,000 miles. I also add some Marvel Mystery Oil in just to keep things clean. I do the same with my Deuce when running straight diesel.
This is not off topic because those are exactly what I'm after now---the O rings in the hydraulic head. Anybody have any dimensions at least? Further, do you have to pull the injector pump to replace said O rings? Can't you just unbolt the nuts on the head and it come off that way?
On top of some of the other problems I've had, I bypassed the FDC and am still making oil. Have to assume it's the injector pump. Any comments greatly appreciated, 'cause I'm about to have the IP pulled and rebuilt.
Now we're getting somewhere... However, there is no 'clanking'; it makes no such noise or vibration if engine revved and just sitting there; but Stumps, you got me thinking here, this started after, repeat after, I dropped a load of water at my ranch and ran pretty much empty on to San Antonio...
Reviving an older thread here, I've had this noise that I can only describe as a "thrumming" sound coming from my deuce. It has an interval of every two seconds and is noticeable after about 3rd gear up. So I got under it after reading posts here, etc... and checked every single driveshaft...
Saves your brakes......the ones on your wheels; causes resistance compression on a diesel engine.. and in my arena, it's a 'jake braaaake'; blata blata blata
I've had my deuce hauled here and there by a friend with a 1 ton Ford 350 Dually with no problem, but I have to admit, we know it's back there when we do this. BUT, he has it outfitted with a jake brake and we are very careful; won't pull it in the rain, etc... He hauls a D5 cat bulldozer on a...
I purchased both of my Deuces at Fort Sam and have been very happy with both of them. My hard top which I drive alot needs its FDC bypassed, which I intend to do next week, but it's been a great truck so far with no major issues. The soft top actually had a rebuilt motor in it. Both cranked...
Well....mine pops approximately every 3 to 5 minutes when it's running, but I dont have the 'pop' sound at shutdown. Mine holds air for about 6 to 8 hours without the buzzer sounding at start up, but will not hold air overnight. After reading other posts here, I know I've probably got a small...
I've read as many posts as possible, but now my Deuce is 650 miles away after an awful diesel intrusion into the crankcase, and I suspect it's definitely the FDC. Need to fly over and get it in San Antonio, and question is, what tools do I need to bypass the FDC? I know I need some plugs, but...
I flushed it out by putting 2 tablespoons of dishwashing detergent in and running it for 4 hours on a little trip, let it cool a bit then put in filtered water and flushed this way about 3 or 4 times until it FINALLY came out clear. Then filled with my preferred coolant for my diesel engines...
OK, so again, I have questions:
1. Does bypassing the FDC still allow you to run waste motor oil in hot climates:
2. Is it likely if sump oil comes up on the dipstick that bypassing the FDC will 'most likely' solve the problem?
Reviving an older thread here, I recently blew up the "baby" in Sanderson, Texas, and the fee to truck it to El Paso is $1,000.00 Not what I wanted to spend. Problem is that it was leaking like a sieve out of the bellhousing drain hole, and it was engine oil. Checked oil level and it seemed...
