ABsolutely...and the first Diesel engines ran on vegetable oil---peanut, I believe, back in the days when Edison and George Washington Carver collaborated. Like the saying goes, there is nothing new under the sun....just the applications change. (Also, since we're on old sayings, the devil is...
Any ethanol in boat or aircraft fuel is death; I've talked to people who have had to rip out fuel tanks and replace them with stainless steel for their watercraft. As I said in an earlier post, chemicals is chemicals, sometimes they are compatible and sometimes they ain't....
Don't be scared, just aware. When you drive old stuff, it's not going to behave like the new fresh stuff just off the assembly lines, with computers and soothing voices coming out of the dash. I remember a few years ago, my daughter came by to visit, and left her lights on. Drained the...
Not an ethanol basher, we have no political or spiritual agenda here, but chemicals is chemicals and if the stuff isn't right for the application, it's just not right. Additives do help; worst thing to do of course is to neglect maintenance and blindly go along until a piece of equipment sh*ts...
Could be you might find a station, got to check our the site. Someone recently told me that Virginia could not legally sell ethanol-free for on-road use. Sometimes I wonder if the whole point is to get us so hooked that we have to buy brand new sh** that takes the new fuel mixtures, be unable...
Don't have a link as such, just google up "ethanol free gas stations" and one of the hits should give you the site. Be sure to call and check on the places, though: sometimes the individual stations cannot find the ethanol-free and sneak in 10%. There are some cheap (10 dollar range) little...
Read the label on Sea Foam. We used to think it was great stuff, but it has a high alcohol content--so it defeats the purpose of adding it to help prevent the damage from ethanol gas.
Can't really neutralize the ethanol, you've got to remove it. Ethanol will attract water, as well as eat up rubber o rings, corrode tank liners, all kinds of nasty action. Also, which we failed to mention re: the 2-cycle engine damage, the necessary oil will not stay in solution in gas with...
Hello all, re: ethanol in gasoline:
It was tearing the guts out of our M274 mules, and 2-cycle tools like chainsaws and blowers, etc. We found a website that lists stations in the US and Canada, by state and province, that sell non-ethanol fuel. We are in NC and there are several within 25...
Hello, all, a friend shared this file of really great photos; I'm not sure it will post because it is a PDF with a number of shots, but I wanted to try--here's hoping it comes through, because these are spectacular!
Again, the old adage that good fences make good neighbors (or at least can limit their ability to harass a person if their fence is high enough!!!) Good luck~
