What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Been noticing a old jeep not a mile from my house, has the military tires on it. Well today I saw the owner out around his barn and so when I got home I took the humvee down to meet him. He was in the service and this jeep is something his grandpa bought after the Korean War and is a 47 Willis...

    Aftermarket wheels and tire sizes

Someone posted up a picture not to long ago and just had black steel wheels, no beadlock. Any idea what those might have been from? A jeep? A f150?

Looking for advice on a 6 door conversion,

Yes! Two door! I was just thinking the other day what that would look like. That is freaking sweet!

    My fan

thank you for checking! This entire time I was just thinking, man wish there was another one close I could go check. Probably just over analyzing it as I can't really drive it yet. Just seems odd that so many say their temps go up and down and my fan NEVER turns on unless I unplug the solenoid.

    My fan

More info (maybe weirdness) Cadillac valve plugged in, deff a hissing sound, unplugged hissing goes away. Also unplugged it will not cool down from 200. Just idling in the driveway, hood up, valve unplugged....nothing lower than 200. Also I can put my hand on the radiator, it's warm....but not...

    My fan

Okay so the fan should not turn when the vehicle is off then. I am positive that the fan has never "engaged" like it did when I unplugged the cadillac valve. I contacted a person on the forum who sells them for cheaper than on line.

That makes a lot of sense....I can not move mine, not even a little. This is getting worse and worse haha.

I am going to get my volt meter out but I am going to go out on a limb and say someone has already been down this road before me. I am also going to try and clean my valve but if I can't, where it the best place to pick one up?

Also, with everything off, should I be able to turn the blade by hand?

    My fan

Well unplugged the valve and it kicked on, so it's just spinning but not engadging. I don't know if I should feel better or not yet. So first should I start with the temp sensor to make sure it's sending the signal to the valve?

    My fan

I know if I unplug the cadillac valve it turns it on....maybe its not running and is just spinning. I will go try.

    My fan

I read that exact post off another forum. I still dont know where to start if the fan is running from the get go. Does that mean my temp sensor on the the water crossover is bad? Is there only one speed for the fan? On/off? Just odd that if its running all the time the temp doesnt go above...

    My fan

My fan, runs from the time I start it, till it stops. I never hear it "kick on" as I've read. I know it's controlled by the Cadillac valve but what I don't know is if it's running all the time it seems people say their temps stay around 180-200. Mine seems to be more like 200-220 and stays at...

    Cars and Coffee

I was at the knoxville Cars and Coffee this last Sunday. There was a humvee there, had a radio set up, antenna...really looked good. Was hoping the owner was a member and I could just pick his brain on some things.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

My father-in-law came over today, he drove convoys in Iraq. Usually what I would call a 6x6 but he had another name for it. But he drove a humvee quite often. He even got a metal for helping design a door hinge that would allow the armored doors to work properly. Anyways, he went over the...

    700R4 Conversion

So I'm curious about a total cost of this vs the total cost of the 4l80e in the real world. Not, I got a deal on this and that.

After market seats or alternate seats for HMMWV / m998 ?

Curious how bad a set of sliders would be so you could change the seat position a little more.
