Installed a keyed ignition today. Never liked the idea of a key hanging, so I trimmed it all up, painted it all black, and then put the key in the toggle.

Seems like I remember people talking about this and saying it's still not as strong as the 3 or 4 speed that came with the humvee but yes it does not require a computer to shift it and will give you that extra gear.

Pretty sure that's why they cut the front so they didn't have to put a lift on it.

It is a 3 speed. I just don't want a crappy filter for how much work it is. That's why I was worried about buying the wrong one. If it matters I'm also 6.5L. I don't want the cork gasket. Other than that I would love a gasket!

I just want to make sure I get not only the correct trans filter but also the correct gasket (unless it's rtv). My humvee is a 1985 but redone in 07. Also, dextron III compatible? Or something else? I don't mind shopping eBay if that's where you tell me to go, just always worries me it will not...

You are more right than you know, this place has a pond that goes up and down with the lake. I just dumped it where he said and honestly the animals will eat it before it contaminates anything.

Why not replace the batteries, you are going to have to anyways and if it's stopping you from fixing it then it's just making matters worse.

Had my first small off roading fun in the humvee. Came home and the wife said she thinks there is a dead deer in the yard. I go down and look and sure enough, someone shot a deer and didn't follow it and it died in my yard. Called up a bunch of "hunters" they didn't know what to do with it...

Don't think that matters. My parking brake was about worthless when I picked up my humvee, suuuuper easy to adjust. Just with the brake released, turn the top part of the brake clockwise, check it every so often, when you feel it's about as hard as you can to pull up then it's set. The gear...
