    Working on the MKT

Well I got the final piece for the MWO from SCSG-G4. While I had planned just to use Home Depot parts for this section I changed my mind after Mike sent a pic of a spare he had. The OEM item is a lot sturdier than what I had intended and just looks better. Only thing left is to try and repair...

    New guy from Texas

Unfortunately Rod has moved on (work wise). He's a great guy and was a huge help when he was there and will be missed.

    New guy from Texas

Welcome from the Hill Country. An easy fix for the brakes on a 105 is to swap to a civi axle with electric brakes. That way you can also have a common tire with your F350 so no need for a different spare. If you're worried about the "historic" aspect of it you can always hang on to the old...

    Support@SteelSoldiers.com HACKED?

That's the one I got. I find it rather ironic to be called a coward by someone hiding behind the anonymity of the net.

    Working on the MKT

I got the cable clamps in today so the crossover is in place and done. Only thing left from the MWO is the plug box and pigtails. I'm having a bit of a flare up of my MS so an hour is about all I'm good for especially when it entails crawling in and under the trailer half a dozen times. I'll...

    AH-64 Apache Crash

According to several different sites they did walk away. I doubt anything further can be gained by commenting on the vid.

    AH-64 Apache Crash

Video just showed up on Fox News web site. They didn't add any additional info but officials "didn't know what caused the crash but they're investigating." Probably means they're trying to figure out how to handle the Statement of Charges from the guys paychecks.

    AH-64 Apache Crash

The caption at the bottom of the page said both pilots were okay, no one on the ground was hurt and the pilotes were facing criminal charges. They're going to be in the service for a few centuries if they try taking it out of their pay.

    Working on the MKT

There is a crossbeam just behind where the cable runs. The MWO has 5 or 6 cable clamps drilled into that beam to hold it in place. It was just a little wet yesterday or I would have done that as well. I'll be sure to post pics once I get it done.

    Working on the MKT

I doubt the ends of the cable would fit through so they probably had to cut them to get around the cable. Not a big deal but I think a little goop to hold them in place is a good idea.

    Working on the MKT

Well I finally got the crossover cable last weekend and after 2.5" of rain last night thought I better start working again before the next monsoon comes through. Threading the cable was pretty simple without the grommets on. Since they had been cut to take the cable out of the donor trailer...

Looking To Buy MKT-85 Feild Kitchen

This will be the second year I've had the MKT at the Texas Military Forces Open House and American Heroes Air Show (also known as Muster) at Camp Mabry in Austin (Apr 21/22) and the Central Texas Air Show in Temple (May 4-6). At both events last year I had dozens of people come up and say "I...

    Working on the M37

I've been waiting for the weather to even out so I could start painting again. It's finally up where it's consistently 70+ this last week so I'll probably hit it again in the next couple of days.

Looking To Buy MKT-85 Feild Kitchen

It's surprising what can happen on an auction site. I had been watching them go for $1500+ all around the country and was getting ready to plop that down plus shipping when one came up at Ft Sam that I got for $750 and towed home myself. Shortly after that I came across 3 locally that the...

    MBU Fuel Cap Gaskets

I'm in. I'll pledge $20 to the cause if that's what it takes to get it done.

    Working on the MKT

I picked up the extra griddle from a guy locally that had a couple (I believe he's gone through them though) and the MBUs I've been gathering for the last couple of years. I had 14 of them at one time but have traded or sold all the extras. I bought 8 off of eBay for $30 each and luckily the...

    Working on the MKT

What I wound up having to do was find someone who converted their MKT to propane and get the cable off their trailer. I haven't seen any others out there anywhere. The other MWO items I'm just making myself (plug, cord, etc).

    Working on the MKT

Mine was not set up for the MBUs so no crossover cable. I just found one this week (hope to get it Saturday). That's why we drilled the holes to complete the MWO - that was done originally when they switched the MKTs from the gas burners to the 24v diesel MBUs. They also would add a 2 outlet...

    My "new" M762

Hmmmm, I think I know where there's a genset that would fit on it.

    Finally got an MKT-75A

He just has some of the gas burner parts not the burners themselves. Since his MKT. has had the MWO done on it it's already set up for MBUs and I think he got some of those from Scranch also.
