I would get a basic M923 truck, it will be great for a cool factor next to your Scarab boat, it has a bed already, should have no problems pulling the boat out of water etc. Power steering, ABS, auto transmission make it easy to drive. Do not get a semi tractor.
Swbradley1, I did try Cummins Quickserve. It gave me a completely nonsensical result, saying that it is a N14 engine installed in a particular 1992 Freightliner truck.
OK, so, it would make sense to try disconnecting the ECU harness at the ECU, and try another fuse. I will try that tomorrow, though it will be a busy day.
Hi, I did read the TM pertaining to ABS troubleshooting.
What I can say is that my truck "looks new" and clearly was very recently rebuilt. Some panel components are dated 10/2012.
I did dive under the rear of the truck and everything I saw, everywhere, indicates that it was not abuse and...
Well, I tried checking out the fuses. I found a 3A fuse (good) and a 15A fuse (blown). Replaced it with a 15A fuse from my pickup, and the new fuse blew right away.
Does it mean that I have a "Blown ECU"? Right?
And if so, what are my realistic options. Does Haldex still sell replacements?
Hello, I went to check out my truck today. It does have a "Haldex" connector on the passenger side under the dash.
I bought a brand new Infocenter.
However, the connector on the truck is a four male pin connector. My Infocentre plug is two pin male and does not fit the connector. What is up...
I like the civilian size tires better, myself, they are easier to replace and use for city use. I have a truck like yours, but longer in length, M927. I love it, it feels like a heavy duty commercial truck with a lot of extra features like dual braking system, 6x6 etc. Additionally, smaller...
My M927 has trailer air supply connectors on the back, but does not seem to have a "tractor protection valve".
Do you think that if I found a good trailer with airbrakes, I could use it with airbrakes using M927 as a tractor?
(the M931A2 that I have, is a true semi tractor with a trailer...
I own a steel spread axle flatbed semi trailer. It is a Transcraft TL-2000. It weighs around 14,000 lbs.
When you have a semi tractor towing a semi trailer, you need to have a class A CDL and very thorough understanding of numerous rules that apply. You need to have a correct registration of...
My M927 displays a constantly lit ABS light.
I bought a "Haldex Infocentre" that is supposed to aid me in diagnosing this problem.
I did read the Infocentre manual as well as the ABS TM. However, I still have not understood where is the connector located on the truck? In the cab, in the...
I have been thinking on the two trucks I bought recently, M927 and M931A2. Both are 20+ years old. A commercial truck this old, would typically be holed through and through, giant rust pancakes falling off, etc. My 29 year old Ford LNT9000 semi tractor is an exception, because it was stored...
They drive like a big pick-up truck.
On this M931A2, ABS light is not illuminated so maybe ABS is working. Also it already has a solargizer.
The CTIS, seems like it might NOT be working also, as one front wheel is more deflated than the other. I switch from "SAND" to "HIGHWAY" and nothing...
Picture is attached. It seems to drive nicely and the batteries are in great condition. I will report on its condition a bit later. My first 5 ton is a M927 with a 20 foot bed.
