Expandable Vans... more correctly Expansible Vans

The operation of the expandable vans is clearly different than RVs. In RVs, an entire room is basically moved outward at the flip of a switch to gain more foot space in the camper. In expandable vans, the sides manually fold down & up to reveal more SF. Nothing in the van moves outward...

Where to get a hard top?

Well, there was a lot of 3 new ones on GL last week. I think they brought somewhere around $2200. That is over $700 each.

RE: Spring AROKMOTX rally I have seen several new members in OK and MO, I believe. A well organized event should draw a crowd.

    6 lug to 8 lug ?

That seems very expensive. You might also consider recentering the HMMWV wheels, getting new 16.5" wheels with correct bolt pattern, or getting new axles even. I have been thinking about looking for 3/4 ton axles with 8 lug bolt pattern and lower gearing to run the 36/37" tires.

Does anyone know if these are current regulations/standards? I'm sure it could vary by state too.

    Wide Load Movements

Re: 1ton with 9ft wide trl. What about trailer brakes? I think a M172 is really going to look suspicious behind a 1 ton and it might peak deputy dawg's interest.

    Wide Load Movements

Sweet pic! After I wiped up the drool, I found these pics (some vehicles belong to other SS members). There is obviously a lot of variance in what is used.

    Wide Load Movements

Re: RE: Wide Load Movements Wow, that sounds like a load for a 1 ton. Do you have a 5th wheel hitch or plan to haul it on another trailer? It is going to look really wide behind a pickup!

    baby HEMTT update

I think I remember Leonard saying it would be done by Christmas. I just don't remember if that was '05 or '06. Time flies when you are having fun! It will be an awesome machine once he is finished with it.

    Wide Load Movements

Thanks for the input. A lot of MVs are overwidth in stock form (M123, M911, M172, M747, etc.). I believe CONUS regs are to notify the appropriate state(s) in advance, but that seems like a lot of paperwork. If moving one of those items, I just want to look somewhat official so as to not raise...

    Wide Load Movements

What kind of signage/flags does the Army use when moving wide loads in CONUS? Is it the same as commercial? Anyone got any pics?
