    2-speed vs. double reduction

Intuitively, I'd say this was done for driveshaft clearance as well as the aforementioned ground clearance.

    SELLING my (2) M1008 CUCVs

I might be interested in getting a less-complete truck if it's still a runner (or close), but again, I'm also in CO.

    deuce hub flip

You couldn't pay me enough to ride in a deuce without front brakes. That said, why not just build custom rims? It's easy enough. Heck, I'll sell you stock 2 deuce centers for $40+shipping when I pull them off my buggy. :)

    deuce hub flip

yes to both. I'm not sure if there's room for the front drums after flip, though. You'd also need to think about wheel location.

    Air brakes

By the way, and this is actually somewhat counter intuitive, but with air brakes, despite all the benefits, you do get lockup under about 35psi.

    Air brakes

Wait, do you have "air over hydraulic" already? The hard part will be, as I'm sure you're aware, the front axle.

    What other engine trany combo's?

If you are willing to move the radiator forward and the transfer case back, you can stick just about anything in there. Best Bob

Casa Azul show rebroadcast was just on the Travel Channel

Man, still get a kick out of that truck. Also, nothing like basic cable to put a face with a name here. ;)

    Yet another big tire thread.

    315/80r22.5 is fine. ;)

Any information/experience on Webasto Diesel Air heaters?

So I bought 5 of these puppies: http://web.govliquidation.com/auction/view?auctionId=881210 They draw 5 Amps after startup, and run on diesel oil. Here are some pictures. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/index.php?module=photoshare&func=showimages&fid=165 Does anyone know where I might find some...

Ok, I'll say it, the deuce is not that "awesome" o

Well, the M35 is alot more nimble than a 5 ton, but it ain't no rock buggy, that's for sure. :) Good to see a fellow offroad builder on here.

Put your shades on for this one!

Wait, I just looked at the truck again. Is THAT what happens to Aervoe?

    Why didn't I buy?

Wow. Although that sounds like a pretty penny (pence?) to me, I guess you can't underestimate the premium for Transatlantic shipment.

    Finger pinchin' @$&!

You know, that looks just like the type of square u bolt you'd find on a leaf spring. If you can't get a stock/used or NOS handle, I bet a spring shop could bust one of those out for you for $10 or so. It's a little smaller than you'd normally find on a truck, but it's the size threaded stock...

Put your shades on for this one!

Santa's wrecker? It's like a Nordic version of one of those excessively-accessorized Indian or Asian trucks.

    Another Relisting....

Shill bidding is illegal, right? Just curious.

    another trans question

Where I am, GL1 is some spendy juice. I found some Caterpillar lube that's yellow metal safe (that's the most important criterion) and rings in about 45 bucks for the 5 gallon pail. Of course, my tranny (6855) is a big thirstier than your standard deuce tranny, but still. Bob

Split master cylinder brake set up?

So I picked up some air over hydraulic airpacks a year or so ago. I also have the foot pedal and the stock switch from the truck (a COE Hino), but I don't want to necessarily swap EVERYTHING over yet. My thought is to split the air output from the stock master, and use that to fire up one of...

Identify my winch! Is it big enough?

Is there any data anywhere on the body? What about either the dataplate or the casting on the winch body?

    Fuel Pump

BTW I just checked in, too. I have the 24v external pump from Saturn surplus. Thing runs like a champ. It's a bit noisy, so when you mount it, put some insulative washers inline with the fastners, else your bed (the underside of which is where you pretty much want to mount it) will rattle like...
