I am looking for any size smaller than 20" rims with the same lug pattern as a deuce to try putting on one of my gen trailers. I hope to be able to lower the height and make it easier to build a deck on the trailer.
The M106 and the bolster trailers use these rims. Don't know what else is...
I have an ammo trailer and love it. The low deck makes it easier to load, the tailgate can be chained (with the purchase of a little extra chain) to lay horizontally and offer a prime place to sit at a comfortable height as well as allow for the loading of long items such as logs. It has a...
I also have a slight coolant smell in my Deuce cab once in a while, usually when the weather is cold. Once the engine warms up the smell goes away. I always check the coolant level and never have to add fluid, but the smell is there. Always makes me uncomfortable, but I will live with it...
It took me a year of looking before I got my Deuce, and that was with 3 teenage boys chomping at the bit for me to take the plunge, but I waited and got a good one. I actually got mine from a retired guy. But prior to buying I watched GL and made a trip to Camp Lejeune and checked out the...
Wow, I can see i missed a great time. What was I thinking? Saturday morning, warm dry bed, But I should have been there. Glad it turned out so well. Fantastic pictures!!
Southdave,
Don't want to steal the thread but I mix well-dried pine with hard wood. I had a chimney sweep say that's what he does for himself AND his mother. He explained that the pine will burn hot and cause a better draft up the chimney. The key he said was "well-dried" and "mix."
Thanx for posting. Good ideas, and thanx for the pics. I added my "dome" light by buying a stick-on light at Walmart. I had to add a small metal strip to run between the tube frame of the soft top.
I agree, the heater gets in the way, but I'll keep my stock heater. First Christmas parade...
Joho,
The primary is much shorter - 3.5 sounds right. The bottom of the praimary canister is empty of filter so any sediment doesn't block the filter. Glad you're using Baldwins.
You do not have to loosen the generator to get to the primary filter. Someone on this sight posted a way to simply slip a wrench onto the bolt at the top of brace holding the primary. Then twist the primary canister. It worked fine for me.
Got R Done tonight. Borrowed a bearing socket and it turned out I had been pretty close with the pipe wrench on the inner nut, but way off on the outer. Glad I waited and got advice.
Thanx again guys.
Thanx everyone. I really appreciate all the advice. I now have a bearing socket (Thank you AMGeneral) so will try the torque method until I get the feel for it.
Thanx again.
Checked the brakes on the Deuce using T M 9 - 2 3 2 0 - 2 0 9 - 2 0 - 3 - 2. No real problems till I came to the wheel bearing adjustment. This TM says:
1 . C h e c k b r a k e a d j u s t m e n t . R e f e r t o p a r a 1 3 - 9 .
2 . R e p l a c e f r o n t w h e e l . R e f e r t o T M 9 - 2...
I pulled 2 M332 ammo trailers behind a Deuce 300+ miles from Richmond on interstates at 50mph no problem, but they are designed to be pulled tandem. I would be very leary of pulling a car behind a 105.2cents
