Slight change in plans. There is an airshow in Morganton which we plan to attend in force as part of the exhibits. So far 4 of us are meeting at AMGeneral's house at 7:30 to convoy to the airport (3 Deuces and a jeep). His house is an easy 1/2 mile off exit 106 on I-40 or you can meet us at...
We have brought 5 home. Most trailer lunettes are much higher than a pickup hitch, so you need to plan on carefully lowering the trailer tongue, or backing up onto wood to raise your hitch high enough to connect. Also, plan on low tire pressure, trailer lights are 24 volts so you will need...
I had almost the same thing when I did a recovery in Richmond. 600+ mile round trip. When I checked the Deuce out in Richmond before heading home, I saw oil all over the underside. Mine didn't quite go all the way to the front bumper. After the panic subsided and everything was checked (no...
April Meeting
Our April meeting in Hickory was different. I got stuck behind my house - sort of.
We had a lot of rain Friday so the hill behind my house was just too slick for the Deuce to climb Saturday morning. So I drive over to Brandon's in the pickup and find Bruce and Shannon already...
Finally got around to adjusting the parking brake on my Deuce. I was having trouble with the cable as well. It wouldn't move. I was looking at it the other day and I found a grease fitting on the cable under the cab that I had been told about but had never seen. So... no grease in quite some...
I think I'll drive the "old" truck this time. I know my youngest son is working; not sure about the other boy.
Brandon, I'll try to be over your place by 11:30ish so we can convoy.
I really prefer my 332 to a 105. Lower deck for easier loading, higher sides, tailgate lowers for a ramp, they are designed to be pulled tandem, and I think they look cool. I got 2 for $165. One is for sale.
The higher sides make it safer for hauling kids in parades (fewer bodies are lost...
"Looks like someone has scrambled your instrument panel around. Oil pressure and Fuel gauge are swapped and Battery is swapped with air pressure. Maybe someone liked it that way?"
Funny, my gauges are exactly like the ones in the picture.
March 14 Wt Meeting
JBlack and I met at exit 106 and convoyed into Hickory for our monthly meeting. J got a real good deal on a Deuce from a guard unit in Alabama. It's a really nice truck. Runs flawlessly. I finally brought an ammo trailer (which is for sale). Had a good meal and good talk.
Hauled 8,620 lbs of gravel home with the Deuce. The gravel hardly covered the bed. I expected the Deuce to "feel" heavy, but she handled fine except for hills - turtle slow.
Had to remove an old basketball pole before spreqading the gravel. I thought it would come out easily, but it turned...
A month ago my shut off cable broke. Replacing it was not the problem, but now I got to thinking (always dangerous). I wonder if I caused it with the lock I had on it. For over a year I have been locking up my Deuce with a "U" shaped metal sleeve that fits over the narrow part of the shut off...
