Bigger tires (11.00s) help a decent amount, too. I don't think it's possible to get good fuel economy with a Deuce in any permutation on stock 9.00x20 NDTs.

Mine was like that, too. Then, when we tested it at the end of the driveway before heading out by giving it a few hard pumps, we discovered that one of the rubber brake hoses (one of the rear ones) was about to burst, and was already leaking brake fluid. This was discovered because all 6 brakes...

From looking at the pictures, I'd reckon that the whiffle tree wouldn't mate correctly with the shackles unless they were flipped. The angle in the shackles would prevent them from aligning with the whiffle tree. Feel free to correct me; I'm no expert at this.

There are several vendors that people use: Saturn Surplus in PA is the only one I've used (for brake parts).I called 'em up and gave them the NSN and part description, and they were able to send it right out. Others might chime in with the West-Coast and Mid-west vendors that are closer to you.
