patracy, do you have any 11.00x20 NDTs?
ryker, does your guy have the same, or 11.00 Michelin XLs?
Reason being that I'm re-dualing my deuce that has 11.00 NDTs, so I need four more NDTs.
Bigger tires (11.00s) help a decent amount, too. I don't think it's possible to get good fuel economy with a Deuce in any permutation on stock 9.00x20 NDTs.
Mine was like that, too.
Then, when we tested it at the end of the driveway before heading out by giving it a few hard pumps, we discovered that one of the rubber brake hoses (one of the rear ones) was about to burst, and was already leaking brake fluid. This was discovered because all 6 brakes...
From looking at the pictures, I'd reckon that the whiffle tree wouldn't mate correctly with the shackles unless they were flipped. The angle in the shackles would prevent them from aligning with the whiffle tree.
Feel free to correct me; I'm no expert at this.
There are several vendors that people use: Saturn Surplus in PA is the only one I've used (for brake parts).I called 'em up and gave them the NSN and part description, and they were able to send it right out.
Others might chime in with the West-Coast and Mid-west vendors that are closer to you.
Oh goodness. Now that I see who your travel partner is, I'm really scared as to what's going on. I bet Murphy has been getting hyped up for this "operation" for a looooong time!
You're going to want to stick pretty close to 100% straight diesel. The only engine with multifuel capabilities is THE MULTIFUEL LDT-465 or LDS-465, which are the same engines with just a few differences. They are very clearly marked as MULTIFUELs on the data plates on the engine and on the...
Thanks for sharing that video--it was pretty cool. My dad spent a lot of time on those (including several Delta Airlines flights), and he really enjoyed it as well.
Give us a holler if your plans take you through the ATL airport and you get stuck. Lord knows there's enough of us GA Boys (and Girls) to keep you covered and to keep Elmo happy should the fit hit the shan, if you catch my drift.
Awesome. Sounds like you're right on track for how you should be testing this. Thanks for keeping us posted--I look forward to finding out the outcome.
What track is this?
Also--can a Mod come through and clean up the posts worrying about flag placement? It has derailed the thread badly enough, and is rather irrelevant since the flag is posted on a pole in the ground trackside and is not mounted on the truck.
I just saw this thread myself--I live in Needham (where the Mass Pike and I-95 hit each other) during school season. I'll have to hook up with you guys sometime in August or September when I get back up there. I need my MV fix while at school!
