    Why the fuss?

I think most of us took it like you meant it. There's nothing wrong with asking, and if we swayed you towards the darkside a little, that's good, too. They really are neat trucks, and I think you most people that like MV's would like them if they gavde them a chance.

I just won myself. I'll going to get as soon as the EUC clears.

Mirrors removed from windshields in M1009s...

The glue comes loose more frequently if a vehicle just sits. Mine was laying in the floor when I picked it up!

    M1009 is home!

Drive it around a little and the fuel gauge may start working. That's what mine did! Looks great and congrats![thumbzup]

    Scored a M101A2 from GL!

I won a pretty nice M101A2 today. I have been wanting one for a while, and I finally found a good one close.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

My rocker panels, 2 gallons of Lizard skin, and a MIP floor mat came in. I'm going to weld in the new rockers, coat the floor with the Lizard Skin and install the mat this coming week. She should be a LOT quieter on the inside. This will be nice when I install the stereo/CB combo unit that also...

    Why the fuss?

I actually don't doubt that. The 6.2 is underpowered in stock form for a humvee, and they took a beating in that application. However, they will last forever in a pickup if they aren't beat to death. They don't mind being worked, but I wouldn't use one for a mud buggy. If you keep them under 3K...

    Why the fuss?

They were put in there if they were, because the TH400 WAS NOT available in a 1/2 ton truck or a K5 Blazer after '81. The 6.2's came out in '82. Look it up. BTW, I have ran those "crappy" diesels for over 15 years I've had one that had 339K and 2 others with 280K+ on the original engines. All...

    m1009 blazer 25mph @ 8% grade

That much in either ditrection is way too much! Loosen the 3 bolts and line it back up and try it. That should tell you a lot.

    Why the fuss?

M1009's have an extra rear leaf, the J code 6.2, and the TH400 was not available for a civi K5. The C code 6.2 and 700R4 was all you coiuld get for the civi Blazer...

    Why the fuss?

That sounds like my wife's logic! -lol "Hey baby, I spent $100 on some shoes, but they were 75% off, so I saved us $300!!!!!!!!" aua;-)

    Why the fuss?

So they had the electrical gremlins early on? I always wondered if that was case, or if they started after they sat around.

    Why the fuss?

    NO DOUBT! Gotta keep moving!!!:driver:

    Why the fuss?

These things bring pretty decent coin in civi land, so GL is the cheapest way to get them. The M1008 more heavy duty that a normal K30, but the M1028 is the beast. Civilian SRW K30's are **** near non-existant, too. The M1009 is really not a whole lot heavier duty than a civi Blazer, but you...

    Why the fuss?

Yeah, but nothing in your fleet can catch my turbocharged M1009!;):p;)
  17. 67_C-30

    Why the fuss?

Echoing others - the fuel mileage, practicality, and ease of finding parts is are the biggest reasons. For me, though, its a little more than that. I have always wanted one. My best friend's dad was in the Guard when we were kids, and he drove a M1009 daily back when they were new. To us, it...

    another M1028a2

Man, I want one of those!

1st things to do, to my M1009

I agree, $2500 is WAY too much. If the truck is running good, I'd drive it. I'd definitely change all rubber lines, maybe the filter, and maybe the lift pump if you just want to, but I would not touch the IP if it is running good. If you want a little more power or if want to add a turbo later...

    "Bulletproof" Seat Cover for M1028

82-84 Camaro seat covers fit perfectly, and the pattern is very close to original CUCV seats. They are available in the factory burgundy color too.
