if you get a dual voltage alt off of a hmmwv you can mount it in the stock location they are 100 amp and that will give you 12 and 24 volts then you can put the compressor where he has his.i got my dual voltage alt from teds truck and stuff for 250 brand new.
if you are getting fluid to the bleeder on the air pack and nothing at the wheel cylinder bleeders that should tell you the air pack is the problem.easy to figure that one out .bleeders are great tools for diagnoising your brake system use them wisely
yes air packs can leak fluid back to the air system and a bad air pack can give you no brakes if the valve that meters fluid to the air boost doesnt open it can cause a hydro lock .it has been talked about in other threads
first to second sucks. try going second trans low transfer case then pull trans fer case up to high then drive out the rest of the gears it gives you close to the same ratio as in first but that way it is syncronized
using things like lucus and other trans fix in the bottle is the worst thing you can do to a trans .it is a seal sweller it will make all the seals swell and they will wear faster or just fall off the pistons all together then you need a full rebuilt no matter what .where it might have been...
i rebuild transmissions for a living if it doesnt move pull it out. there is nothing in the pan or that can be fixed in the truck that will make it not move. no movement at all forward or rev is gonna be a convertor or pump problem. unless it is just totally fried like maybe from geting water in...
it is the coolant heater for the swingfire heater it mounts just under the pas side headlight . but it would make a heck of a spud luncher  what did you say soccer mom here have this potato:roll:
i worry about nothing i think he did a great job with it and it will work great for what he is using it for and thats all that matters..i would do mine a little different as i would be towing more weight . but the basic idea is there and looks quite nice might i add .i bet there will be several...
my guess would be the trans that have broken second were not broke from starting out in second as the engine torque is very limited at near idle. but instead they get broke from downshifting into second at to high of a speed as then the second gear see the full load of the truck and cargo.if you...
brain thomas you are right but what is the weight rating of this hitch he made .whats the tongue load it can handle and what's the total towed amount? see the problem here if it is a custom built hitch you dont know these numbers .so how much do you put on it how much is safe .i could easily...
i dont think the bolts are the weak link the side rails are as flat steel flexs and can fatigue . but i think it is very purpose built and will do the job he is asking of it . i am the master or killing hitches.i would take overkill anyday. i broke a cat 5 hitch on my f250 loosing my trailer and...
people will bad mouth anything anyone build thats no reason not to build it or sell it .someone that doesnt understand how something works or hasnt tried it doesnt hold alot of weight in my book and in most peoples eyes .they do work and work very nicely .not knowing how something works doesnt...
i dont think you would ever have a problem towing the trailer and m37 . only time you would notice a difference in the hitch you have and a conventional hitch would be in an accident .but at that point things are gonna be getting messed up anyway.it is a nicely built piece.is the reciever tube...
ya i think they might have been the cheap chinese parts sold as nos. they had the same effect in gimpys winch when i was stuck at haspin. i gave them to him to try us as we were breaking alot of pins getting me out with three trucks and all using snatch blocks.
nice job .it would be nice if you were willing to sell the templets or put together a kit with the brackets and part numbers for the compressor, condensor, belt, and the air dryer you used.the evaporator could be switched for other style or different mounting locations if wanted . like for someone...
i also have a grade two in mine i havent broken the pin yet .i put the correct nos pins in it i broke 4 of them just trying to wind my winch cable up in flat ground using the brakes for resistance
