    For unofficial use only?

I've always thought that would look good on a CUCV. Now I know it does!;-)

    CUCV grill question

Yes it the bridge plate. They were used to identify the GVW of the vehicle for the engineers controlling traffic over damaged, limited weight or temporary bridges.

    Tires

Very cool! I never knew those trucks were bought by the government. They are basically the same in appearance as the 81 - up trucks from the cab back, but the fenders, hood, inner fenders, radiator support are all slightly different. The cab is different as well, mainly because the hood hinges...

    Recovered my M1009 today!

Yes, I was blown away when I saw the dash. Mine is grey, so I guess it was replaced at some point. Oddly enough, one of my door panels is grey and other is the same reddish brown that the seats are. :cookoo: I'm going to try a new set of brown ones.

I found some shackles that are a pretty close match to original.

I found some shackles that are very, very close to factory CUCV pieces. I bought one of the screw type, but realized it really didn't look right. After a little digging, I found some from MSC that are pretty close. I did have to grind about .050" out of the center to go over the 1.5" tubing, but...

    Cleaned up the M1009 today.

She looks good wet! I have planned on going back with camo all along, but seeing it wet is making me reconsider going with just green with the bumper numbers, TP #'s and stars.

Rear sliding windows on a 1009: Anyone else get that?

This truck was purchased from GL with sliding windows, but the RWL tires were added. The same dealer had several other M1009's that had the sliders, so they were some out there. I would agree with Ken that they were changed out some point.

    Recovered my M1009 today!

The Blazer plus GL's 10% auction premium and GA sales tax and fuel to trailer it home was around $1700. Warner Robins is about a 270 mile round trip for me, and I put $60 my buddy's fuel sucking Duramax 2500 to go get it. As far as the Blazer, I have been driving it literally all weekend...

    Recovered my M1009 today!

Unfortunately, the beacon it mounted over to one side and it is screwed directly into the fiberglass cap. Its coming off when I paint it. I'm going to fix the holes.

    Recovered my M1009 today!

It seems so. We put a battery and trans fluid it in when we got home, and drove it around most of the evening. I am going to replace the window and the rear window regulator this weekend. I ordered a pair of rockers a few minutes ago and I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with old pattern camo. I'm...
