Lately I have been having a hard time starting the engine, the first turn of the "Run" will produce 1/2 turn of the engine (1/2 a Jiggy).... let it rest for a second or two and at 2nd try one full turn or even two and then nothing, on the third try I get 3 "jiggy Jiggy Jiggy" (Will Smith style)...
That sounds like a pretty good deal, the rim style would not be my choice but that is a very good deal nevertheless, I sure would have purchased those tires if I read this before purchasing

Walmart does not specify the amount of plys on those...
Yes Retiredwarhorses, very true, the 14V tap I believe is going to the 12V GPS speedometer and if you notice all the way at the top of that picture you will see the A/C compressor pulley being the one that forces the skinny serpentine belt (I don't know who made that choice (I just work here :) )
Coug, YOU WERE RIGHT !
Upon further review at the "Instant Replay" I found the bolt for the ground totally loose and the ground strap not even connected, I am even wondering how I did not get some smoke do to the on/off contact at the generator. I put everything back and later on when I go home...
Coug, thanks for the explanation, I was already thinking that I had to bring the old 400A to get rebuilt somewhere but what you say makes sense, a 200A generator should be plenty of juice for a Humvee with basically no heavy duty accessories or aux equipment in it.
When you suggest to check...
Well as it turns out a week or 2 into the 200A alternator downgrade, in spite of the fact that my volt meter inside the car reads anywhere between 27.9 and 28.3 (at higher RPM) my batteries are not charging very well in fact this morning it took 3 trys to get my engine going, the first two the...
ok... here is a previously undisclosed factor:
Due to age and injuries suffered in 2 motorcycle accidents I have an incredible hard time handling the weight of a typical Humvee tire and I definitely want to be autonomous when it comes to change tires (especially in the Florida Everglades where...
Does anyone have any comments/recommendations on these rims/tires:
Tire:

Rim:

Thanks Coug but I want to get out from the "16.5" deal if I change the rim I might as well go to a 17" that way I have a lot more choice when it comes to tires.
ok... maybe I emphasized the weight/fuel consumption in a way that misled some people:
The issue here is SAFETY, my tire exploded on the expressway and that is what triggered the initiative of changing all my tires NOT fuel consumption.
Now... if in the process of upgrading tires, I can also...
"Rude"....????
"Aggressive"
Am I missing something...? what part of my posts were rude or aggressive....?
Sarcastic maybe....
Anyway if anyone got insulted or touched in any negative way by what I wrote: APOLOGIES !
ohh really.....? my bad dude.... i thought this was like a Mini Cooper and I could get 30-40 mpg.
c'mon man do you truly think I was planing on getting anything better than 10 mpg...??? I know what I was getting into and I still am very aware of it but you tell me if there is anything wrong with...
Dude... I totally get it, for some of you all of the above doesn't really matter, for me I gave up my car my bicycle and my scooter to get a Humvee and now it's all I have, I go to work with it and to do groceries and church and kids to school with it everyday, to me getting better mileage and...
Think about this... the stock tires on a Humvee are about 180 lbs, if you upgrade to an alloy rim and a lighter tire (not run flat) you can bring that weight down to where you shave about 300 lbs of rotating mas on your truck, now... multiply that X 8.4 that is the equivalent of about 2,500 lbs...
Ohh yeah.... the problem has been addressed: Replaced alternator, unfortunately I ended up with a 200A from a 400A one but it seems to be working for now (I have only had it since Saturday) but the problem remains, you can always find you batteries depleted because you left lights...
Thank you sir but I have realized I can make my "Jump Start" harness completely outside of the slave connector for a lot less money, unfortunately I do not have 100 spare bucks for one of those connectors.
No... I actually bought me this box...
