Looks like its solid...good parts. But the engine will need a lot of work from the pictures, I'd say offer him $1000.
I payed $1200 for mine which is a '52 with a hardtop, non-winch like this, EXCELLENT body, but bad head gasket, no brakes, still runs.
Lou, apologizes- it took me almost a month to get the pictures up! Well...here they are. This is our M817 W/w, I took a couple of how the bumper mounts, where the drive shaft goes, and one of the PTO on the side of the tranny...hope these help at least a little bit...
Yup, this means that at one point your M-37 had the M-42 command truck kit installed in it...I've heard that many were taken out as they used the trucks for other things or swapped around their jobs.
The only W300's Ive heard referenced to are civilian dodge power wagons...hope this helps!
Gents:
This is the 100v rectifier that was added to the M-37 to turn it into an M-42....powered more radios like some have said. My truck had it installed but not hooked up, we also have a truck at work that has it still installed!

Thats how ours is set up anyhow
That is a BIG winch :driver:
I could get your some basic photos tomorrow if you cannot get any before then
So I got together 4 friends last night, and was easily able to lift the bed off and put it on blocks for now...heres a couple pics of the truck as it is now; minus the front bumper (traded to another member on SS) before I put on the winch mount bumper, and minus the bed.
As you can see, the...
On a related note...THIS truck was just taken OOS in a tiny town in my fire district, and returned to us (state forestry). It is a ex-army pumper...cool to compare to the other 68 internationals on here! Not sure where this vehicle served in the military.
The last 2 weeks I've been working on cutting bolts/taking off parts...I traded another member on here my non-winch bumper for some parts he didn't need, I'm happy I get to be a part of his restoration!
I also finally got all the bolts holding the bed on cut and/or unbolted. Tomorrow's project...
