I just got back from napa, looked at a square bore carb and intake....checked pricing. I will probably go with a weind stealth intake and a edelpuke 750 w/ elect. choke. Was wanting to put the gas tank from donor truck in mine but the tank is rear center mount...crossmembers, rear single...
should be fast start, if you do an advanced search of the forum you can find a link to a u-tube video where a truck started in colder temps than you mention, no block heater, just good plugs. there's also many threads about testing plugs, and the TM's. Somewhere i've heard that using a thinner...
I bet if you have more than 2 GP's not working it wont start. Many have said no problems without block heater to -10, but then the oil is so thick it's hard on the motor anyways...coolant heater and a glow plug or 2 and she'll fire right up
Thanks, I cruised the site and found a harness that might work. The newest I could find was 1981. I'll probably call tomarrow and talk to someone, internet just makes it more difficult, but I got the # now.:-P
In all seriousness, the best way i've found is to use a block of fake wood (trex) and use it for a pad on the pinion snout. I'ts a nice even push on the carrier. I generally use a couple strategically placd blocks of wood with a pillow to catch the falling carrier if a buddy is not available...
well, No TBI.... seems there is just too much crap to deal with. Since the transmission case broke I am looking to do this sooner than anticipated to save doing stuff twice. Will probably run aluminum intake, dual plane. I'm told There's really only about 6 wires to run for the gas motor if...
electrical, glow plug by-pass, radiator for leaks anywhere, as soon as you start it throw it in reverse and drive and check for lag time....big indication of things to come. Even if all works in the cab you could look under the dash at starter relay, and wires for tampering. torque on the fan a...
bearing in the alt is probably bad, you need a donor and take it ALL apart. The flex plate is a bummer. Use some ratchet staps for safety in addition to the jack, just slide it all back 6" or so, you'll need to pull the dip stick and some misc crap loose but it's pretty simple. Just heavy work...
it does sound a bit like a linkage problem, i'm not real familiar with 208 linkage but if there's 2 separate rods doing their own thing than one might have come loose at the clamp. A simple look at the linkage for odd wear/or a clean spot that use to be cevered by a clamp. If that looks good I...
thanks, the transfer is fine, looks like the adapter is ok too. As you sit in thed drivers seat...the case cracked right to left, not front to back.
Some of the ruts on these roads were deep, lots of slickmud, I may have throttled up at the wrong time trying not to get stuck and caught some...
Went out scoutin' for mud boggin to a place where we usually go and the 1008 needed a tow home.....
Didn't really do serious 4-wheelin', just puttin around trying to stay out of the ruts, it's very muddy in the hills right now. Most of the places we drove around at had just 2 deep tracks to...
