sometimes it's a good idea to pull all the fuses and waste a can of electrical contact cleaner in there, take the flashers out too. Dont forget to unhook the battery positives. Finish with some compressed air to blow out the rest of the muck and speed up the drying process. Good luck:-)
I was talking about putting 2 batts on 1 tray, with or without the spacers underneath. If we were thinking the same than very good, it will open up some more usable space at batt tray 1 for an ammo can full O' stuff:p
there is on tray #2, but it's difficult to use the 6tl hold down. I also noticed some tabs pointing up from the bottom of the tray that could wear a whole in the bottom of a battery, or prevent a base from sitting down nice and flat if 2 were jammed on to one tray. good luck:-P
If you have push button glow plugs I think most would say the delco 60's....someone on here recommends using a dremel to file down the ends, or buying the correct females and soldering them on.2cents
i'll be honest, if it weren't for the EXCELLENT running 6.2 in the 1008, I would still believe they were the biggest mistake GM ever made... I like the duramax, cummins and gas motors by GM. Generally not a fan of extra heavy, under duty stuff like the 6.2. I got lucky and got a good one...i'll...
I'm sure they exist bit i've never seen a 3/4 ton with 3 springs, and 2 that I have owned had 2 from the factory...I added 1 in eack pack to level off the front. And yes, I forgot about the 1/2 ton diesel trucks...I always disregard them as a bad run for chevy, but they were made. Thanks for the...
allrevup, did you also replace the 2 black relay boxes next to starter solenoid, I had a drain that took forever to find, it was the one the volt meter is wired to...but could be either one. good luck
I have a set of military trays if you need them, the ones that fit the 6tl or whatever they are...and 1 hold down for same batt. If you dont mind changing the configuration of stuff under the hood I have given detailed explanations of how to mount civvy trays from a 1 ton 6.2 truck, 1 batt on...
I looked again at the pic you provided....are you missing the battery trays, you said the battery's were behind the seat? If the system is still 24V, yes you need 2 alts. I would be very surprised if oriely's had the brackets you need, but I guess it's worth a check anyhow. It sounds to me like...
every civvy blazer, truck, and suburban from 73 to early 87 i've ever seen had 3" wide front springs, 1 ton uses 3 springs, 1/2 and 3/4 ton use 2 springs. Aftermarket lift springs are commonly 2.5 inches wide. My 1.25 ton 1008 is really just a military issue 1 ton, I dont consider thier rating...
