I would take it back too, and if all checks out good than you can adjust the little hootice behind the gas pedal. I dont think there's really much adjustment but you can move the whole assembly if you loosen the mounting bolts and gain a little something. A friend of mine used electrical tape...
7157 part # doesn't work any more at my napa.......part # 4205 is a 100 amp model, 94.00 w/ 3 year...if you have 1 origanol iso ground alt put it on the pass side and this one on the drivers, then your done. I got out the old AC Delco # which is 1101015 and had it crossed. I have one on my truck...
Power service additive @ napa. if it'll run through one full tank your probably good with filter changes then. (if the filter fills full of shmag from the cleaning propeties of PS then it wont be as easy) ...
sounds like a standard issue vin inspect to me, here the DMV does it, not the police.....the need for an officer is just because it's not at the DMV, it's an educated guess though:wink:
Look in the FAQ thread, a starter from an old caddy will fit, and one from an older chevy van, it's a large case unit. I could be wrong on the part #...if your auto parts store sells a 7157 thats the right one...I just cant remeber if thats the part # for the one with an isolated ground or...
thier was a pretty recent thread about this topic, something about the plug in style "T" wouldn't power a blinker on one side because the military wired it different or something, it should have all the info you need...I cant remeber it all but I think the guy did get it fixed up to work good...
Junkyard, if one is close enough to you. Look for a early 80's 1/2 ton 4x4....i've seen a few with the 6.2/TH400. I got a truck just like this for free once just for driving a different way home from work.
based on the "symptoms" it doesn't sound like the vaccuum line to me, line problems are usually marked by a hissing sound or the trans winds way up before shifting....but does shift, a very positive shift causing the tires to chirp in my case. Couldn't hurt to do the hoses while your already...
the lift/ truck I spoke of in a previous post is perfect with 40" groundhawgs, tons of flex with no rubbing. It's just low enough to get in and out of without a ladder and still clears the "kelly humps" that we go over to "test" new lifts and such. At one time or another I wanted to go with 44's...
ya, it's way up there, i'm pretty young and find it difficult to get in the truck. Your truck wont rub if articulated on a corner? Looks like it would pretty bad, are your bumpstops functional? If it doesn't rub you definately found a niche......*7"[thumbzup]
My buddy has a 12" spring lift (super lift) on his 77 civi 1 ton w/ cuttout flares and it still rubs....front springs are 3 months old. you get a lot of flex w/ them, he's running 44/19.5/r16 boggers, on 16x10 black steel wheels. Probably wont ever rub on the street, but what good are 44's on...
