I just went thru this with a 1952 Duece. The tank had an unbelievable amount of crud in there. Could of shoveled it out. I removed the tank and discarded all of it. Got another used tank. It was from a diesel. So the pump put out too much fuel pressure for the gas engine. I bought a fuel line...
Yes Talked to the insurance of Carrollton and they would not insure in Pa. I tried Gulfway and we could nevewr get in touch with them .Four other co's said it must be garaged, and locked up.Got a rice anyway from Haggerty and it was 124.00 a year if garaged. They all require a color picture of...
Anyone have a good deal on historic vehicle ins without the requirement of being garaged? I called a couple co's and they wont insure ungaraged.I need a company to call thats not so picky. Darn! Four bay garage but this five ton just aint gonna fit. Unless I give it a running start at it...
Yes it is adjustable, I raised mine because of the rust flakes floating around in the tank. It was 1/2" and now is 1 and 1/2". The bolt holes were about 1" apart.
RE: Re: RE: Holy strong bows Batman!
Actually , what happened there was the jet had landing gear problems and the duece rode the runway as he was coming in for the landing and caught the jet. He had overdrive in the M35A2, so they were able to syncronize their speeds perfectly.
I havent had the time to mess with it or even look it over much. About the rack body, it is a steel plated on , not bad, but it was a dump, and the bed was in bad shape so he removed it. I found out it was over at"Kublo's" in Brackney, Pa. I bought it from them. So I am going to remove the...
Went out today to run it for my son and batteries were completely drained! What would do that? The previous owner always kept them disconnected. Now I know why. I only drove it 2 days ago.
I finally recieved the papers from the previous owner and drove the truck home today. In order to get a title in Pa. I needed a registration and something in writing saying the truck was sold to me. He registered the truck and now I have applied for title. This truck was never registered. I...
Thanks for the tips, I didnt realize that the rust was a problem. And I will try thr heavy bar for a straight edge when I cut something important. Now I see why I was having so much trouble. Back to the job with some encouraging words. My flame was all wrong too, and my distance away from the...
Thanks again, it all helps. Another question, how should the flame lookon the torch for cutting?Blue but how long? And does the flame get angled towards the direction of cut or 90 degrees to cut?
The corrugate isnt galvanized, but thanks everyone for the cutting advice. That was 1st time cutting and had no idea how. Yes, I could use a class or series of classes. Each trade deserves respect for the skill and knowledge it takes to do it. I build buildings and knowledge is one thing, but...
Sounds like alot of variables affect the premium. State its located in, the value of the truck, the type agent you have, they do want to make as much as they can off you.I am presently getting started on pricing from different co's. and thanks for the input guys.
I was afraid of that. Thaks RDM, guess I will go back to sawing.I may just cut out the hoist area and scrap the rest of the bed floor. Looking at the bright side, at least I made some progress.
