Dammitt you're gonna have your M43 done before I can afford to do anything major on my gun truck which I started last year! You're making me look bad. :(
Anyways, you are doing a great job, hot weather or not. you started with a borderline basketcase, it's gonna look like a show winner in no...
That's why I've never bid on scrap lots. Most military bases have an established scrap dealer nearby. that has had a decades-long relationship with the base and dealing with their scrap material. They know what the base produces, what it's worth, and since they are close by, hauling it isn't a...
I know one company in PA that buys stuff, he hauls it back to his yard, sorts it and just loads it back into dumpsters and takes it right to the smelter. No fuss no muss. Not sure what type of arrangement he has with the GL guys though.
Went over to meet with Cabell on Sunday to do some trail clearing, there were about 6 others as well, I can't remember their names or know whether they are on SS or not. However, great people, not afraid to work, we cleared over a mile of new trails (formerly old logging trails) for the rally...
Oh yeah, I forgot those were aluminum. Come to think of it, now that I am thinking of the front shape and design of the mule, there wouldn't be too any places this could attach to that it wouldn't either 1.break something on the mule or 2.get in the way of the controls.
My dumb thinking, sorry.
Saw this treechopper attachment for an ATV, looked pretty cool. Thought it would make a neat addition to a M274 Mule owner who has to clear land as well. What you all think of this idea?
There are PLENTY in private hands, all across the country. Many have lived a hard life and are begging to be saved from destruction by the scrapman. Find them, save them, and learn how to restore. It will beat wishing for more A2s to show up on GL. Cuz we all know, as they say in the South...
I visited someone a couple years back who had an aircraft hanger with a OT-810 in it, along with some Unimog stuff, in MD. Can't remember who or where, but I need to PM this gent. Anyone know who it is?
What I can see so far in the radio rack picture is:
Top shelf left: fire extinguisher
Top shelf right: AN/GRR-5 receiver
Middle shelf left: RT-524 transceiver
Middle shelf middle: R-442 receiver, C-1439 control box mounted to center beam
Middle shelf right: RT-441 transceiver, part of AN/VRC-24...
Fenders can be had for not too much money, and the damage to the hood/grille is repairable. Could be worse, GL uses the forklifts to damage the driveline of the CUCVs so you CAN'T drive them away.
Nice new ride! I owned a M890 for a few months, it smoked like a destroyer trying to evade its...
I might be able to swing up again, but it will be in a civvy vehicle, I have some mods I am in the middle of on the deuce and I won't get the truck back 100% before that day.
