Got it home, pulled it home with my A3. Still couldn't get it to move on its own so used the M1031 to pull it up on the trailer. Good to have it here so I can start tinkering with it.
Haven't seen any leaking. I have a lot of years around big equipment, and the motor oil dosen't scare me at all. I'll never put a 100,000 miles on it and as long as it's clean and moisture free that transmission will last me a lifetime. :-D
Just put a hard pull on the A3 today. Temp never went over 200f. Most of the time when it's empty it runs about 175f to 190f. I've never changed it over from Military use, so guessing it must be the 15-40wt. I find if I run the RPM's low it runs hotter, even the engine temp. runs hotter...
Try to stay away from the term "stake". Insurance Co.'s will charge more for a stake bed than cargo. I tried the pick up term and SS said they wouldn't take it because of the weight. :(
It's 50% WMO and 50% diesel. I've added some WVO with the WMO a few times to try. I've also gone as high as 70%WMO when it was real hot here a week or so ago. Have over 5000 miles on it so far, saved enough to pay for a IP if it goes out. All the oil if filtered down to 1micron, but I have...
The only experience I have so far with WMO is in my dodge cummins. I've been running about 50% and filter it to 1micron. I don't notice the power loss so much until I pull a trailer, and then I can feel the difference. It still runs good, just can't climb the hills as good as before.
