I would have to chop open another of my burnt out tail lights to see, but if the potting could melted out and not melt the housing or fry anymore of the electronics then it would be simple to figure out where the problem is. Unlike most potting compounds used, trucklite uses some kind of rock...
I'm thinking of getting a generic under the dash heat and a/c unit from vintage air. The whole kit including compressor can be had for less than 2 grand. In fact if you scavenge a compressor from the junk yard you would have less than a grand in the whole kit.
Nice install none the less...
If its anything like the trucklite led signal lights I'd be surprised if there is a way to fix them. I cut one open to discover everything but the tips of the leds are coated in a hard epoxy. I don't if you could melt it out or not without damaging something else.
Did you ever figure out why your brakes were leaking before you switched to dot 3/4? You also need to disassemble and probably rebuild all 6 wheel cylinders. Simply bleeding the brakes won't flush all of the dot 5 out of them. The bleeder valve is on top of the wheel cylinder and you can have...
Easy fellas the guy is new. Leo4x4 no one is trying to bust your balls. We aren't spelling and grammar nazi's, but there comes a point when it becomes difficult to follow a post when spelling and grammar aren't even attempted.
As far as your winch issue, the best option would be a 2nd 12v...
I have some spare thimbles if you need any. Just cover shipping costs and you can have a few. I have left and right handed ones.
If it just unthreaded from the stud then either get a "pork chop" tool or you might can get a crescent wrench in there and turn the thimble inside the nut. Off...
Actually now that I re-read your post I would definitely start with adjusting the shoes. Does the MC go empty or lose fluid over time? If your brakes are way out of adjustment too much fluid goes to the wheel cylinders causing the MC to suck air from the reservoir.
Id say you need to have a look at the crank and rod bearings. Those chunks could have been from the previously cracked liners but those shavings would have me thinking its time to pull the crank.
I NEVER use lucas in my engine. But I do add a small amount to the tranny and transfer case. None in the axles either.
Increasing the viscosity in engine oil is usually a bad thing. Motor oils are designed to thin to a certain viscosity at operating temperature. As the oil ages the...
In what way is air ride inferior? With 4 link or freightliner type suspension you have the same if not more articulation. You also have way more weight capacity than leaf spings. The suspension we used on the bobber is capable of hauling something on the order of 12,000 plus pounds on a...
The lights are just 12v square generic off road lights. We haven't decided if we are doing to wire them in series or use the battery equalizer. We already have a cooper bussman 100amp battery equalizer that is going in the center console. The cb radio and stereo are going overhead. Where the...
We haven't worked out every detail of the tail gate and spare tire rack. Its still in the development phase. Right now we have an absolute rats nest of wiring to do in the cab since Mark has decided to stuff every gadget he can in there. Its going to be pretty cool when done though. Since we...
