    Diy rock sliders

Got a pic of the drivers side finally. These really do make it look a lot tougher!

    Blinkers

Mine do that too. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the blackout light switch. Because if the blinkers didn't run through that switch then you could be driving along all blacked out with your night vision on and you accidentally hit the blinker...BAM! Now your a flashing target, plus the bright...

    Diy rock sliders

Installed my sliders today. Went with flat black for now. Only got two pictures before the sun went down. I'll try to take some more tomorrow. Look at that curvy body. Ha ha. War wounds.

Physical size of fuel tanks 16 vs. 20 gallon

It's very true. Not once have I seen a stock fuel tank on any vehicle be truly empty when the fuel system can't suck up any more fuel. There is always a few extra gallons spread along the tank bottom. And it really is a thin layer too.

    M1009 Exhaust

I can't find the videos I took of just the exhaust when I first put it on, must've been on my old camera. But I have some videos on youtube that you can hear the exhaust pretty good. Here is a link to the video you can probably hear the best.

I have a few videos I took when I first put them on. I'll try to find them.

    M1009 Exhaust

I hate glasspacks. Always have. I come from a muscle car background so a deep, powerful rumbling V8 is what I love. So I put on some 40 series Flowmasters with turndowns before the rear axle. Sounds great, less weight without all the pipe over the rear axle, was super easy, really cheap (total...

    Steam Cleaning Engine compartment

Well, I have never really cleaned off my engine in my 1028, but it needs to be done since everything is mud brown...from the mud. However, I have cleaned probably close to 100 different engines (rough estimate), and as long as you keep the water out of the intake, distributor (CUCV's don't have...

    CUCV FAQ Thread Cleanup

Great idea. Get it cleaned up enough to pass a Marine Corps field day inspection! Awesome discovery! Now I just have to find it for myself...

    M1008 Tire Pressure Question

Not really enough to notice at 45. But when I air down off road you can definitely feel the difference. Especially while driving back on pavement to a gas station to air back up!

    M1008 Tire Pressure Question

I obviously have vastly different tires than stock, but I run the front at about 40 psi and the rear at about 35. Mostly due to the light weight of the rear with no load. With these pressures I get full contact patch of the tire contacting the road in the rear and the front tires don't bulge or...

Never saw this info before regarding 28MT starters

Sounds like a possibility. How many CCA's are your batteries putting out? How many soleniods have you gone through?

    Diy rock sliders

Got mine yesterday! Just as heavy duty as all the pictures on this thread have shown. I will probably be doing the install the middle of next week when I have a few days off. I'll try to take plenty of pics of the install too.

cure for death wobble on stock m1028

I had this problem in my 1028. I replaced the kingpin bushings and springs, which helped, but it still wasn't gone. I researched and found that the kingpin springs probably didn't have enough pressure for compensate for the larger 37" (and less balanced) Interco tires. So I put one 2" x 1/8"...

    Off Roading?

I've done a bunch! It has always got me home. People are pretty surprised sometimes at what it can do and get through. I've only been stuck once- high centered. But that was before the lift and 37" tires.

Very nice. I love my 4L80!
