Plow update. Still don't have it mounted on the Duce and have not really needed it yet thankfully. Currently have the transfer case apart replacing the sprauge clutch assy. Also found some 11.00 20 tires as soon as the budget allows for them anyway. Was thinking bout running singles with...
Thanks robr! Your truck is tops in my book. Was just reading your posts about it again today! Was thinking a color scheme similar to yours might be better suited for the buss than green.
Again hats off to you for the quality and workmanship you have invested in your truck!
Sure wish I lived closer to you. Would love to attend something like this and meet some of you. Does anyone know of anything going on here in North Dakota this summer?
That would be a unique way to finish the inside. A Cummins with an Allison transmission would also greatly improve the drive-ability. It currently has a chevy big block and a rockwell 5 speed manual. Plenty of power but I like the diesel powerplant idea better.
Thanks guys this would look good in green wouldn't it. As to how much it would take its hard to say. It is approximately 36' long so it would be a few gallons.
So say you go with a green exterior, what do you do for the interior? Enlist the cervices of an interior decorator? rofl
Ok , I realize this isn't a military vehicle but it is big and old and goes well with my Duce. Thought some one might appreciate it as I do. It is a 1951 Flxible Visicoache that has been converted to an RV of sorts. Needs some TLC but will come around. Enjoy.
Thanks to greenjeepster for the effort you have made to figure out this problem. The jury is still out for me. I have a 970 Case tractor with a 1500 watt tank heater and a 600 watt soft plug heater and for that application the tank heater seems to work better. Could be because of the higher...
Kat's recirculating heater
Greetings, Farmun
Where did you tap in to the cooling system at for the supply and return lines for the heater to circulate properly. I have a White Multi fuel. Thanks, Jeremiah
Thanks again for all the input! I have posted a few more pictures of the V plow in my photo album if anyone is interested. This thing has a wingspan of 10' 5", it is 6' tall, and each side is 8' 8" long.
Yes they are 2". I have a 66 Reo with the same engine and am looking for a soft plug heater fo mine as well. Stumped the guys at the local Napa and Carquest. Would appreciate a heads up when you find one for this aplication. Thanks
A big thank you to all who have responded to my question. Yes duals on the front would look cool but without PS it might be tough to steer. Will check out the other threads that are mentioned.
Recently bought a 66 Reo 2 1/2 ton 6x6 and an old highway department V-plow. The plow and mounts weigh 2000# From reading other threads on this topic it sounds like I need a 5ton to handle that much weight. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for the help, Jerry
Hello, The front driveshaft was not turning when the trans was in a forward gear, only reverse. As to the front axle I had the whole front end off the ground and turned the front driveshaft by hand and both front wheels moved. As to the linkage being out of adjustment that is a good possibility...
transfer case Reo 6x6
Had the truck stuck yesterday and the rear wheels spun but front axle didn't. Sounds like I need to replace the transfer case. Any idea where I can obtain one and what they are worth? Thanks for the help!
I recently purchesed my first M35 a 1966 Reo and am having trouble getting the front axle to lock in. It appears to only do so in reverse as there is a rod on top of the trans that only engages the transfer case in reverse. My other truck is a 1941 Chevy G506. Thanks
