RE: Re: HUMVEE turret gunner
That is a very early version of the GPK now in how many generations it includes bullet proof glass and full round protection. These early ones could easily be fabbed out of CRS for anyone who wants the look for their HMMWV. I mean do you really expect to be...
Plus the PS magazines make good reading in the latrine although not as good as when Connie was more prevalent in the magazine....
A great DVD is available free from Milemarker that shows static load testing of many brands of 8-12,000 pound capacity it is good watching.
It is available here...
Well I asked an old truck driver about life upon the road.
Do you do a lot of singing when you're bringing in the load?
Is there a pretty waitress crying for you every hundred miles?
Do you do a lot of thinkin do you get a lot of smiles?
Then he sat back in his chair and told me boy heres...
I have a BF drill, it is a #3 MT with a 1 inch pipe handle opposite the long switch handle which has a paddle switch. It is older than dirt, I watched as my Father and Grandfather used it to drill holes in prestressed concrete beams on our farm. All I know is it sounds like a duece when...
I saw these trucks up near the DMZ sorry the pictures are from the drivers seat of our van. I scared the other officers in the van snapping shots and when I picked up the van at the TMP the Korean lady said " I neever seee a Lieutenant Colonel signn tuck oout beefor
It was my thought too when they came out with so many steering axles and the hydraulics on the trailer needing a pony engine to run them. The real issue is the old HET was understrength and a truck moving our MBT has to have strength and HP to move it. We got what we got and whining does not...
The new HET tractor and trailer are an awesome rig. I saw lots of them in Iraq and a few in Afghanistan but here in Korea they require special road clearances beyond what they did over there similar to America. We have them in a special company being driven and maintained by the Korean Service...
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Beginning to Think I Can Do Anything!
Sounds Great thanks for riding the Vets in the parade. The duece looks great with big American flags flying from the troop seat frames.
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Beginning to Think I Can Do Anything!
All my soldering is done with my excellent Weller table model with very quick heat up time and constant temperature based on the tip I put in the handle. It is 7,000 miles away so no pictures but a table mount soldering iron is the best...
RE: slings
I got a hold of an old boat lift sling that is heavy and wide and is a great way to pick up anything I can with a front mounted winch. The Army currently uses big nylon rope slings that are about 6 feet long and have big eyes in them.
Welcome to the site. My neigbors got used to my trucks especially when the biggest complainer died. The rest of my block likes my trucks cause they know in a blizzard I will have the only vehicles that can move.
Mike:
I would start with the batteries and go up the wiring harness from there. Use the TM because the wiring is too complex for any mortal to memorize it and track down a fault. Sounds like you have an open circuit somewhere. Is the voltage gauge showing any voltage when it is running?
The way we set up drag plates on my Son's Jeep was to make two 1/2 CRS very big plates and use grade 8 bolts to tie them to each side of the frame pinching the frame between them.
All holes were above and below the frame and we put additional heavy pipe in the frame to also be pinched between...
This was 17,000
My Deuce worked hard hauling this combination and it was not close to your proposed load I also recommend a tractor trailer combination for your hauling the halftrack
RE: tractor
Back as late as 1993, JD 410 backhoes were the standard in the engineer BN in our heavy division the 1st Cavalry. They were the light diggers and they had D-7 dozers for digging tank hull down positions and berms around the Division perimter.
Chris:
That is fantastic! I am glad someone like you got one of those Marine base M 818's. We want to see the little guy in a car seat with earplug riding shotgun soon. Look around for an M 127 they are great trailers and I got mine for $400.00. You will love towing it around.
That truck looks beautiful! I am enjoying all the dueces still on duty here with the ROK Army. I bet they would drool over your truck if you brought it here.
I have had a CDL ever since they created the requirement. Back then I held a Class A licence for driving dumps and semi tractor trailer combinations. The main reason CDL's cane into being was that some truck drivers held many different state Class A licences so they could pull out a fresh one...
RE: Re: RE: M116A2 Mule hauler
Nick:
I knew when you PM'ed me that this would be an excellent MULE hauler. Very nice job on the conversion. I put 12 Volt LED lights on mine so it would not be a worry of having them burn out.
I know the trailers are well built but I added strength to the...
Man I would have loved to have been there or at least been able talk one or both of my sons into going with you but nothing happened there. I head out for Camp Casey tomorrow at O dark thirty and will be off the net for a while. Please do post more pictures here and not on photo bucket cause I...
