I have used some of the square LED lights. The work well but are not for long range. They can also leak water into them. I have some on order that I'm going to put on my other truck. But, this time I'm going to put silicone around the edges and on the wires. I'm also going to spray them green...
Never heard of the stuff. But, reading the reviews it seems great. I do store fuel for a year at a time and then cycle it every year with stabil in it. The good thing about this is that you can store fuel for up to 5 years but u have to add more every year. That cant be done with Stabil.
You...
I have done the research here on SS and it seems like an adapter for the fuel filter isn't needed since its easy to do. However, it would be nice to have a fuel water separator with drain cock.
Does anyone make this adapter for the M923-A1?
I'm also thinking of getting an oil filter...
My current thought is...
Fuel tank;
kept full to decrease water build up
Diesel Kleen with every tank full
Bio Kleen on occasion or if stored for a long time (EDIT along with PRI maybe)
Trans and Motor;
Rotella 10w40
Lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer (10002)
Axle and Transfer case
80w90 gear...
Looked up a lot of old posts and just called 2 Allison Trans Service shops. spoke to them about the MT654CR which is not electric. Both recommended that 10w40 should be fine and they wouldn't change it to Dex3. One said Dex 3 is no longer recommended in Allison trans because it does something to...
also you may not want to add much weight in the back when going in fine sand
in sand you want to float ... ie wider tires, less aggressive tires and less tire pressure
in mud and ice you want to sink where you can grip firm ground ... ie thinner tires, more aggressive tires (meaning bigger...
I believe its 50 to 90 PSI for my 1400s on my M923. I'd put it down to 50 in the sand and run them at 70 normally. I also have a Viair 450P that I can use to fill it up.
consider a 100 gal transfer tank in the back. it adds 7 to 800 lbs. also put your tow bars back there. you can mount them using any spare feet you may have. I'm also putting a gang box in the back for all my tools and spare parts. Also another spare tire and generator. Better to have things you...
first thing I noticed is that the sand isn't that fine
second thing I noticed is that they don't have lockers and at least one of the rear wheels would stop
if they had lockers they would have made it up much easier
lockers?
had mine in sand and mud but have rear lockers... no problem
never took it up a big sand hill
in general wider tires are better for sand.
I think the mich 385 tires and 1600 tires are wider than the 1400s I have
<------ m923 with lockers
had a deuce that I sold. then got a Marine M923-A1. Much easier to drive. Faster, more power and bigger tires. It can go almost anywhere especially with the rear lockers and 1400 tires. Gas is an issue but that's why I put a 100 gal transfer tank in the back and will put another tank on the...
I once tried to pull one deuce out of mud with another deuce using a snatch block. all it did was pull the winch deuce toward the stuck deuce. we had to put another truck behind the deuce to give it more weight/traction. the deuce ndt tires and light weight (13K) isn't helpful.
I'll have my...
M923 frame is 29 to 34 (inner / outer width)
the only factory mount I see that will fit is this - Curt 13703 Class III Receiver Hitch
it doesn't look as strong as others but for under 300 it will do
