    Overheating multifuel

If part of the radiator is either blocked or full of crud then it could seriously mess up the cooling capacity of the engine. Early on in my learning mechanical things, I replaced the radiator in my '76 Monte Carlo. Good hoses, good water pump, new radiator, new thermostat. It would after long...

Any more A1 5-tons (Mack Diesel engine) out there?

I looked at buying one of those when I was searching for my 5 Ton. I settled on the M809 series first and then the Mack's second because of the trickiness of working on Macks. Our Generator repairman here at CNN (he has a side job running his own fleet of trucks and repairing over the road rigs...

I GOT MY NEW ENGINE(Pic's added)

Is spooge around the head like that at the rear indicative of a bad head gasket or is there always a touch of leakage and slobber?

    Aircompressor/Air Filter supply

Odd, looking at that diagram I don't seem to have that part. Seems like I've got a different intake unless I was mistaking the horizontal tube above that filter in the diagram for the intake. Guess I'll have to take a close look at the truck tomorrow.

    Aircompressor/Air Filter supply

Hmm, that's easy enough. I don't have anything now and it seems like an airfilter would make sense. I'll see what I can find at Napa or one of the other parts stores.

    Aircompressor/Air Filter supply

Does the Air compressor on the M35A2's need to get it's air from the Air Filter housing? If so, what kind of hose is used for this? Just a piece of heater hose with 2 clamps? Presumably you run it up and around the back of the engine?

K&N Air filter for the deuce

The filter on the M35A3 seems like it'd be easy to change and service.

And as far as topping them up, fill them to just below the filler side level hole thingy.

    24V LED light bulbs

The reason I saw for a red led is that the led's light production is a function of the type of led material, not the plastic around the LED. What this means is that a white LED is wasting energy producing colors that will not be allowed past the filtering effect of the red lens. Thus a red LED...

    24V LED light bulbs

I think the brightness depends on the cost and quality of the bulbs. I bought a set of bulbs that are pretty good, but they're not significantly brighter than the standard bulbs. My main aim was to find some lower wattage draw bulbs that were able to handle the 24 volt setup on my equipment trailer.

Ron, you don't want to come play with us as well? I figure the three of us could recover you if you get stuck. :)

    Why an M275A2, why?

You should move to the south man. We've had Rain one day, then 3-4 days of sun and 50s to 60s. I washed my '42 Dingo yesterday after doing some spot blasting. Rolled it back in before the rain hit and was good. It was warm enough for jeans sneakers and a long-sleeve mock-T, and I'm in Georgia...

The A-frame kit (hoist) for M35-let's talk about it

Duct-tape is not the preferred method of assembly!

The A-frame kit (hoist) for M35-let's talk about it

I wonder, could you attack the a-frame support to via two cables to the corners of the bed and make it all clear the cab? Doh! Getting in and out of the cab might be tricky depending on the angles.

    Side exit exhaust

Add a flow through muffler. It has no restriction, but a baffling area like a gun suppressor, works pretty well as it still slows down the sound waves coming down the pipe.

    Deuce Locking Door Handles

Sand blast or sand it by hand, prime and paint and then mount it up. The hole spacing was tricky, it took a bit of fiddly fitting, but I got it all together. I need to touch up the paint as the screw heads marred the paint/primer trying to fit the screws. Insert them into their holes, then...
