Change all fluids (all! Including fuel), filters, give it a tune up (out-of-tune parts will only add to the complexity of dealing with any issues that come up, so get that out of the way now), fresh battery, clean and check all connections/grounds for said battery, inspect all fuel and brake...
When are you planning on doing this? We've been getting a *lot* of snow/ice/bad weather on the west coast here lately....not a good time to attempt to cross the 3 or 4 mountain ranges between there and here....especially towing a trailer.

If the frame shifted, any body shop with a frame straightener should be able to pull it back. Some of the body panels may need to be re-shimmed and aligned.

Pretty cool. I like the wind flap idea on the door seal.
However, you can get fiberglass tops that bolt right on for pretty cheap...and they never rust. Not sure I'd go through the trouble of building my own, but that's me (I'm lazy like that).

OK, on to your issue: Change your filters (fuel and air) and make sure the system has been properly bled out (see instructions in the service manuals). You can get the proper filters with the proper o-rings from OD...
