Mangus is working on it...it's proving to be a bit problematic with the new site, but I'm sure he'll crack it soon.
I would post this sort of question in the SS Main Site Improvements, Updates, Suggestions forum.
Het hallo en verwelkoomt!
That's a nice looking truck! I can't imagine how much it must cost you to drive it around with the price of fuel over there!
Great to see more people from Europe joining. Check back often...there is a lot of knowledge here.
My engine didn't have a tube on the slobber opening...this caused oil to get blown all over the place from the fan. I bought I think 2' of tubing (2" IIRC) at the local NAPA and clamped it to the slobber opening...this directed the oily goo down past the engine compartment and down by the front...
Damon,
Make sure you show them the mechanic who is overhauling the trans the vehicle it came out of....promise you'll let him drive it around the yard or something...little things like that will help to ensure a little extra care during the rebuild :)
I can't wait to see that thing in person...
You would need 4 batteries to do what you are trying to do...series/parallel. Basically how the 5 tons work IIRC (use 4 12v batteries in two series-banks, then each bank in parallel for make 24v with a high power availability.)
:ditto:They work well, but you need 1/2" hose and a real compressor to get the most out of them. Also consider the larger 1/2" couplers for all of the connections. Once I did all of that, I am sure that if it didn't break the nut/cap loose, it would at least break off the stud.
When using...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone...
Welcome to SS Crusty! Plenty of pics to browse! There are a few people from Idaho around that you may be able to pal around with...maybe even get a ride in an MV in exchange for some wrench turning. :)
Chargetek 500-1
They are like $100 and perfect for a deuce. Charges and conditions both batteries individually. Hard-wire it, plug in your truck when not in use, and forget it. Just need to keep the fluid levels in the batteries up (check every month or so).
I got mine here
Welcome to SS! I have to agree with Todd, it's great to see all of these Northwest folks joining!
We need to get a rally together for this summer...lots of new faces to meet.
Nice truck BTW. I wish I had a ladder...:(
Great thread on running dual 11.00s (XL) out back and 14.50s up front. Kinda like a deuce version of a mullet. :) Some good pics here.

I loved that truck...
I'm totally facinated by this thread. I know next-to-nothing about the engine in question (other than what is in this thread), but let me humbly offer this:
Maybe a dry-sump system? Plenty of off-the-shelf belt-driven pumps out there complete with air separators and multi-stage pump...
Hey Wingnut...welcome.
I may know someone who is trying to sell a gasser...but I lost his PM. Let me do some research and get back to you.
...and where in Hillsboro are you?
