Re: RE: Anyone in the Seattle area?
Why dont you be a huge help and post up for this guy, I'm sure that he'd be happy to give the final design out to anyone who helped.
there is also a great place just a few miles from me, called american carburator. I know the owner and he is the only one allowed to touch my grandpas '67 mustang.
Sorry for not getting to this sooner. You could try advancing the IP a little and see if you get a difference in performance. Only do it a line width at a time. The best way to time it is by ear. Advance the timing until the engine sounds like a powerstroke and then back it off a bit. (that is...
when the engine is cold (measured by a sensor in the block) it advances the timing of the engine so the fuel is injected sooner into the combustion chamber. also when the engine is cold the idle RPM is held higher (so the engine can warm up, and not stall). once the engine block reaches a...
I'll vote that your ignition switch on the steering column may have died. that would cause the immediate engine stall and no power, since the pink wire the keeps the shutoff solenoid open is feed from an igniton hot.
Re: RE: M1009 starts, stalls, starts, sounds like crap
The more likely senaario is that the lift pump on the side of the block is leaking or the check valve inside it has failed and is letting fuel drain back to the tank. its a fairly cheap part, but a PITA to put in.
RE: m1009 Glow Plug wait light won
One final thought. you might want to point your mechanic here to get the technical manuals for your truck. Its not the same as a civilian chevy. Much damage can be done by lack of knowledge.
RE: m1009 Glow Plug wait light won
ok grab a piece of wire and pop the hood. attach one end of the wire to the small terminal on the glow plug relay on the firewall that has the light blue wire attached to it. then turn the key to the "run" position and touch the other end of the wire to a good...
RE: m1009 Glow Plug wait light won
yup sounds like glow plugs, your controller probably went bad. when you turn the key to the "run" position, do you hear the glow plug relay "click"?
RE: Re: RE: A Different Belt Question
smitty, you would be best to take a piece of string and measure that, then check the length with a stock belt. If it fits correctly then order the gatorback belt of the same size.
RE: Wrecker
the spellcheck feature on the site hasent worked for some time now, cant figure out why either. Firefox has a spell checker plugin that works very well [thumbzup]
RE: Wrecker
but the thing is, the only topics that should be allowed in that forum "IF" its created, would be pertaining to the wrecker "specific" parts or pictures. The thing I dont want to see happen is for people to start posting regular deuce/5ton questions in that forum and make them even...
