Can I ruin the Detroit lockers if I don't drive it correctly. I say this because I'm sure I can adjust but have a wife that may not and I dont want to ruin the lockers.
Also, a big factor is maintenance and durability. So, which needs more maintenance and which will wear out faster?
I would...
will they be difficult to drive with since the majority of driving will be on road
can I ruin them if I make sharp turns and give it gass or will it just wear out the tires?
mostly it will be on road but want the ability to get traction off road if needed. I also dont want ARBs because you have to change the seals when waterfording and needs maintenance. If I go with a selectable locker a simple wire controled one like Ox would be a good choice because its a simple...
Daily pick up (Silverado 2010) "4x4." I guess this would apply to CUCVs too. Don't take it off road much but if I do I want to have the ability of having at least 3 wheels with power. I also don't want something that needs the seals changed when you go in water or anything that requires much...
Well... I need my Silverado for every day use, work and reliabiliy. At this point I would rather spend 2 or 3K on my Silverado than a CUCV.
I would think with ARB or rear lockers, my winch, larger tires and a few lights (Vis and IR) would be a better option.
Thanks for all the input but...
2010 Silverado 1500 4x4 4 door 5.8 bed with bac flip cover
I have 8 Jerry Cans along the back wall (6 with gas/Stabil and 2 with water). I also have a mount for one of my 6 ARs in the back and spare 12v battery
I have a 12000lb winch that I have yet to attach to my rear hitch
Upgrades I'm...
I can afford both but still not sure if its needed. I would like to have something to carry the 30+K rounds of ammo I have in case the shtf but I think my silverado can do it too. Just not sure if I should spend the money on my silverado.
I was thinking about a CUCV but I;m not sure if it will do much more than my Silverado. What advantage does the CUCV have over a civilian truck. Other than diesel?
I just don't know if its worth it to buy one when I have a good truck already.
when they talk about power what are they talking about? I see they are all 4 watt. The guy at the CB store said they all come tuned out of the box...so do I need it super tuned.
They will be installing it for me with antenna. Also I was told that if I hook it up to the ignition key it might...
I went to the CB store and was recommended the Cobra 25 over the 29 because it was cheaper, had more power and less gadgets to mess with. I was also told that I only need one antenna.
I was told that I didnt need it super tuned like the 29 because the difference wouldnt be that much in power...
1. does it need to get tuned and is it worth 100 to 150 bucks to do it?
2. what Coax and antenna?
3. Where should I mount the antenna on my truck? ....see pictures below

I like the Army edition Cobra especially since I'm in the reserve. I want something with a little range too.
so the readio is about 100 bucks and to get it fine tuned it costs 150 bucks?
does it include antenna
Now how should I mount it on my truck which has a back flip on it? I was thinking...
I'm looking for a good CB for my 2001 Silverado and like the Cobra 29
Three questions:
1. does it need to get tuned and is it worth 100 to 150 bucks to do it?
2. what Coax and antenna?
3. Where should I mount the antenna on my truck? ....see pictures below
I was thinking on the rear fender...
