Thanks for the input guys, and for the chart comdiver. I added the 686 (FS33637) color to the chart to compare it to the others. It looks too yellow. http://www.colorserver.net/showcolor.asp?fs=30277+33446+33722+33637
FS33722 looks like a perfect match. Now to see if it is available from Gillespie.
Thanks. The key is to know the carc color/number/name that is applied to the truck. It is the current tan used on vehicles going to the middle east. Yes, mixing paint to get the right shade is doable, but if there is someone thats carries the correct carc-safe color already, it would be that...
Heres another alcohol bottle pic. This on my deuce. I mounted it to the inner fender so it can be checked/refilled by just opening the side engine panel.
Does anyone have the kit for the 800 series?
RE: Re: 5 Ton paper work help
What were the tools? The common BII tools/accessories and the BII tractor tools? The tool box on mine is still sealed since rebuild. I figured it was loaded with goodies. :)
I want to add a couple things to my M818 so I'm looking for the correct desert tan color to match what is currently on the truck. The truck was depot rebuilt in '06 with a fresh coat of tan carc applied. All of the paint I have used in the past has been Gillespie so I'd like to stick with them...
RE: GL Advertisment on the Top Left
I just noticed and was trying to find an announcement about it. So we are now advertising for GL? That will stir up the hornets nest........
Keep your eyes out for these vehicles going west on 70. I sold them to a gentleman in WA and they were picked up yesterday. They are currently on a flatbed heading west from Michigan. I will post pics of the trucks loaded on the trailer.
Thanks for the info. My 818 is a '70 that went through a rebuild in '06, so I'm guessing the tube grill was replaced with a flat stock grill at that time.
The reason I mentioned the mutifuels having the tube grill is because they show them having both types in one of my manuals.
What a recovery!! Thanks for sharing! That is some beautiful country you guys are in. That will be a story told many times when you guys are old and grey. "Remember the time........... What were we thinking?!?!" hahaha
Mr Doyle, you may know the answer to this. I've noticed on 800 series trucks that there are 2 styles of grills/brush guards that are used. However, there doesn't appear to be a correlation with the year of manufacture. Can you shed some light? Is there any rhyme or reason for 2 styles? Seems as...
Thanks Chuck for putting that in print and pointing out the ONE LINE we would need to know. You saved me hours of searching! My brain would have wandered off after 1/4 of the way through it. Luckily, the M818 falls under the 26K lb limit, but then again, the weight doesn't matter if not being...
