Like Buford T. Justice said, "you better duck or you gona be talkin out your azz". :D
Has anybody actually looked at a ICC bar on a trailer? They are a joke. I can't believe anybody thinks this flimsy bar could stop a car. They do make a good step when climbing into the back of the trailer...
I was on one once and you really can see very good while operating it. You sit too low. As has already been said, you can't see the forks very well but you can see very well backing up either because of the engine compartment. Using it is really a two man operation with one as a ground guide.
I'm pretty sure it's geared the same as all the other M939 trucks. I say that because I've got one and it seems to go as fast as the others, it just takes a long time to get there. It's hard to cruise at 55 if there are hills involved.
I guess what I'm thinking is he's going to be out $700 anyway if he gets it registered. It's sort of a "good will" offering to try and make the other party happy. He may or may not be responsible depending on CA law.
I know when I sell something, even though I'm in the right, I still hate for...
I would tell him to bring the truck back and you'll give him his money back. If he isn't willing to do that then offer him $800 or so (you were going to spend $700 or so to get a title). While both sides might have screwed up a little, it looks like the buyer bears most of the responsibility...
Since this is in the 5-ton forum I assume you're talking about a 5-ton. I'm unsure how well a A-frame will work on a 5-ton with the winch line coming out from under the bumper.
I think you're right after some more testing.
I think you are correct also. I just tried to edit one of my add titles. It didn't take. I have edited titles in other forums in the past though. I guess it's like DH said, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
The problem is that something like this has a limited market. Sure, a lot of people would love to have it for $25K but there's not too many people that has $25K to spend on it. You could start there and see if there is any interest. If not then it depends on how bad you want to sell it.
Don't...
I agree with this. A had a wrecker bed but sold it for this reason. With the short boom and 45 deg max angle, you can't get very close to you or lift very high. Most civilian cranes with go to around the 80 deg range. I guess because the primary use was a wrecker, they military figured 45 deg...
There was no PTO stuff on the bed when they pulled it. I know, I'm the one that ended up with it. I tried to talk Ian out of the PTO when I picked the bed up but he wouldn't let it go. All of the PTO stuff would have been left with the truck anyway.
It would be very easy to fab up the linkage...
I beg to differ. I just did it over in the testing forum to prove my point. The original thread title was "test edit". I posted the thread and went back and edited it. The new title is "test edit (I changed it)". http://www.steelsoldiers.com/testing-forums/91551-test-edit-i-changed.html
Try it...
This is not correct. Regular members can change thread titles.
You just click edit on the first post then click "go advanced". From there you can change the title. I've done it in the past.
Well like I said above, I've been able to log in on my office computer (at work) but for several days I haven't been able to even open the main page at home (on several different computers).
At least I know I'm not the only one having problems.
I always try and put the price in the add title. I think it helps to know the price right up front before opening the add. That way, if it's a good price it will bring more attention to the add. If the price is high the prospective buyers would waste their time opening the add.
It's not a big...
Ok, I'm still having this problem. I can get on GSA with my office computer but with my laptop or my wife's laptop at home I can't. I'm not very computer savy. Can anybody help me out as to the cause of the problem? All other pages load fine.
Because the problem is on both home computers, I...
While you have the pan off you may want to pull a couple of caps off and check the bearings. If they run it much with coolant in the oil it may have spun a bearing.
Generally, if a hyd motor will work in one direction it will work in the other. Same for the winch. Are you sure you are pushing the spool all the way? I still tend to think it's a control valve problem. You may be seeing the hose swell but it could be still not letting enough fluid by to run...
