I've got a lathe but don't know how to use it. You wouldn't want me doing it.
I installed a York on a air braked forklift that the stock compressor played out on. I haven't noticed the oil consumption you speak of. There is a little but it doesn't seem anywhere near 1oz per hr...
Some of the stuff you're wanting to run I'm not familiar with. Do a google search on what you want to run (such as a chain saw) and see what the GPM requirement is. I'd suspect 12 GPM may be a little on the low side.
Personally, I'd go with a stack valve. To make several monoblocks work in...
Another option would be to do like I did on my dump. The valve is a standard spring centered valve with a air cylinder operating it. There is a air switch in the cab that controls the air cylinder and is locked in position however I flip the air switch.
I can't find a pic of my dump valve but...
Here are some valves that may suit your needs- Directional Hydraulic Control Valves | Hydraulic Valves | Hydraulics | Northern Tool + Equipment Detent Hydraulic Valves | Hydraulic Valves | Hydraulics | Northern Tool + Equipment .
Just about any of the valves in the link would work. I know...
Here is two different drawings of how you could set it up. The drawings are for a open center system. As you can see, it's built in a loop which is how a open center system has to be set up.
Generally, the implement you run doesn't care if it's a closed center or open center system. Most...
In your second drawing, Your valves at the quick connect end need to be hooked up in series. Your drawing has them parallel. A open center system will never build pressure like that.
I wouldn't put individual valves at each outlet location. I would use a valve bank with fuild supplied by the...
I love my deuce but for $12,000 it would be theirs. I know where another can be had for less than half that. Except my wife and kids, I'd say just about everything I own has a price if you really want it. :)
I don't fault the OP for walking away though. It's his truck and if he don't want to...
Stay away for surplus JD stuff. It's all closed centered on anything newer than 1960 and even a pump off a junk JD tractor at a salvage yard is going to be big bucks.
Another problem with surplus tractor pumps is most of the pumps are either direct mounted to the engine or are fit inside the...
I'm not 100% sure what you're wanting but I'll try and answer your questions.
You can have multiple outlet points for each valve. Just hook them up in parallel. You won't be able to run but one item at a time though. We way the quick couplers work is they will allow flow to whatever you have...
There are two types of hyd systems. Closed center and open center. Open center systems are less complicated and less expensive to build so unless you want to get really exotic that's what you'll want. In a open center system, when all valves are in neutral (center position), fluid constantly...
Due to design the pintle type hitch will never be as tight as a ball type hitch. It is much stronger in most cases though.
I prefer the pintle hitch over a ball type. I'm in the process of converting my civilian trailers all over to pintle hitch. Easier to line up by yourself, don't have to...
The way my dump setup is arranged would work for what you are talking about. It's just a Northern Tool pump run through a standard agricultural spool valve. You could add as many other valves in-line as you need. I built it this way on purpose for future hyd powered items.
The first thing to do...
They make a little noise and bind a little sometimes but I've never seen one lubed. I think lubing it would just make a mess and it wouldn't stay on there very long anyway.
I'm pretty sure members still can edit thread titles. Hit "edit" on the first thread. Then got to "advanced". In the advanced screen you can edit the thread title. I just checked one of my threads and the option is still there.
That's what I did also. Works great. There's quite a bit of pressure coming out that hole when you break through so I think all the shavings will be blown out the hole.
I usually run .30 wire in my Miller 251. It seems to do OK with all but the thinnest material and can also go 1/2" thick or more. It seems to be a good all around size. Just slow down and run cool on the thinner stuff and speed up and run hot on the thick stuff.
From your pics it looks as if...
When I took my pre-trip I walked around the truck and mentioned checking every part I saw. I listed almost every part of the whole truck and you could tell the instructor was getting irritated but I didn't miss anything. :)
I'm sure as long as you mention the slack adjusters I think you'd be...
