Kenny,
I can bring my 10 gal. silver bullets to hold drinks if needed. I have five of them so we can keep plenty of sweet tea cold. I have this on my vacation schedule for work so I can get there early to help pitch camp.
Here are three deuces for sale in Tampa, Florida. I found these when I was talking to the owners brother in law about some parts off of his parts deuce. He is looking to sell the three as he just bought the A3 shown in the photos. I can give contact info if anyone is interested in one.
Bushman,
Do you have any photos of how that roof rack is attached to the cab? This is one thing I may add depending upon the type of a/c unit (roof, front window, interior) I add.
Otter,
That locking assembly for the rear door looks like it will work for the 109, I will have to measure mine to see.
Here are a couple of progress photos on van. So far we have removed a bunch of the small parts and the side windows of the box. Going with sanding most of the paint and only...
It seems that there are a number of us who want more room behind the wheel. This has me wondering if I could swap the positions of the spring ride seat and bench seat in my deuce? That would create the extra room with out having to purchase a box seat.
Taking out all of the interior was not hard. I suggest goggles, a dust mask and bunny suit. Mine had quite a bit of rust and loose insulation. Since a lot of this work is overhead you will end up with a bunch in your face. There are a lot of small screws and a couple of the rusted ones...
Jason,
I have a couple of bags of gov issue zip ties that are black. NSN 5975-00-899-4606. seems to be about 50 in a bag. Let me know if you want them and I will drop in the mail. Keeping a couple of bags for my shop van but can spare one or two.
I would think that the springs for the 200 will work better for a bobbed deuce then springs from a 105. With the heavier rating for the trailer they should provide more support.
I see that yours came with the a/c unit attached. Take a good look at the roof and along the inside bottom of the box to see if you have any leaks/rust issues. Time to start painting the rocks so your motor pool looks correct. I need somewhere to park more stuff.......
Rockfeild,
I have a couple of spare tires and some of the other equipment you will want to have for your pick up. I can loan them to you for the trip. My deuce is in for work right now and will see very little road use for the next month or so.
Ronbo,
I am in the Tampa area and can help out as you close in on the end of the trip. It is your truck so do what you want but, that paint job looks brand new. If you go with the black and chrome the rear canvas will not match up. For taking bikes to events have you thought about a shop van...
Brad,
My 109 is in the solid 383 green paint scheme and the interior of the cab is the same. From what I can see my truck's paint scheme went OD Semi gloss, flat green, sand, solid 383 green. I can not tell if the first flat green is four color or three color or solid green as I have not...
I am starting the the conversion of my son's Shop Van into a camper. The truck was his eight birthday present and something for him and I to spend time on together. The major work is to address rust issues and new electrical wiring for the box. The plan is to keep the exterior of the truck...
