I am thinking about bidding on one of many M105 trailers up for sale at Fort Jackson. Before bidding i wanted to see if anyone local to there that is planning to come to the Georgia Rally and would be willing to discuss picking up a trailer and bringing it to the rally for me. Learned on an...
Bill,
You may want to check with R&S Fleet Service in Indianapolis on holding them for you. They helped me out with my pick up earlier this year. Please give a shout to GIJOECZAR (Joe Czarnik) as I believe he still has some cylinder heads there that need to move north west to Wisconsin.
RE: Well.....I just bought a Deuce....tell me what you think
I like the extra black, must be for stealthy night operations. :cookoo: The jeep will look great in a three color Nato camo job and would not even take much paint. Looks like you have yourself a very nice truck.
RE: Columbus deuce
Dan,
I have a solution for you that has worked for me on a deuce and a motorcycle. Buy it first and then tell her. The money is already gone so you may as well have it to play with.
I picked up my first deuce from there and had no problems driving it home to Florida. They have some very clean looking ones in the pipe right now. If there is a way for you to take a day and go look at them it will help to put them in an order of merit and eliminate some. I have seen a few...
Medlog,
Thank you so much for the information. Do I read the Mfg date correctly as 1952? I thought that they were still building the the M211 series then. [thumbzup]
Medlog,
I was more then happy to throw some money to the site. I have learned many valuable lessons from the members here. I think that we all appreciate the service since you gain nothing from it and are able to give us information that we would not otherwise have on our vehicles.
Sarge,
I did a seven day road trip on my Enfield a couple of years back. One thing that will save you is a throttle boss. This is a small lever that straps on to the throttle of the bike. This will allow you to hold the throttle down without having to grip it with your hand. I look at this...
Glad to see that you had a good recovery. This group is sure cleaning up MSG. Lee's yard. There were a couple of nice M109s waiting to go up for sale and those three beautiful towed 105 howitzers right by the front gate.....
The radiator was not too bad except for the lower hose. Getting that hose on took more time then the rest of the job. I was not that worried about the brakes while driving the interstate in Kansas and Eastern Colorado but wanted to make sure I had all of the brakes possible for those 11,000'...
Well my brother is now the happy owner of an M35 in Grand Junction, CO. I flew out to Denver last Thursday and met up with him for the drive to Norman, OK. We picked up the truck on Friday morning with no problems other then it needed a jump and a little air in the tires.. All of the fluids...
Ford381stroker
I am picking up tomorrow morning at 8 A.M. so if you are there early I should be able to give you a hand if needed. I am staying the night in Oklahoma City and should be in Norman around 7:30. Driving a Silver Pontiac G6 (rental). My cell phone is (813) 695-5889 if you want to...
I am picking up mine on Friday July 11 in the morning. If anyone is going there a bit sooner and can look at lot 6349 from the event (3348) and grab me the registration number I would greatly appreciate the help. It makes it a whole lot easier to get the temporary tag here in Florida with a...
RE: new pics
Chris,
Could that fit in an M105 Trailer? Does Mechanicsburg have the ability to shove it in the back of an M109? I need to get up to Maryland and recover an M105 and may be able to fit this into the route. Looks like it is not a big detour to get to Mechanicsburg from Fort Meade.
dc3coyote,
Did you win one of the two out of Tampa? If so, send me a PM and I can put you in touch with one of the guys from the Air National Guard Unit that those belonged to before retirement.
I recently drove one from Indiana to Florida and soon will take one from Oklahoma to Colorado. You do get to see a lot of country doing it the driving way but it is a gamble. If you are driving it around the first of July let me know as I will be in Colorado and could be talked into helping...
Kenny,
You are welcome to make Tampa a stop over point. I have the room and am happy to host you for an evening. Easy access to the Suncoast Expressway and I-75 from here.
