Bobbed Deuce - Why use M105 trailer frame too?????????

I thing the M105 beds just look best. I second the notion of putting mud flaps in front of the rear wheels. In fact, I would just re-use the front and rear flaps from the Deuce beds. They are a real good arrangement, and would look "stock"! Lee in Alaska

    Stupid trailer/Cucv question

Pulling a heavy trailer/load, is one thing! Getting it to stop, is another. State laws usually say something about when the trailer weighs more the 2/3rds of the towing vehicle, trailer brakes are required. Everything will be "peachy", right up to the time there is a death or injury! Lee in Alaska

Male trailer plug that plugs into a deuce

Do a search on Ebay, for Austin Aviation. He is always selling that stuff. He will have some version of the plug alone, to various whole chords. Lee in Alaska

    Has anyone done this?

Usually, on a van trailer, the sides and top are structural members of the unite. Flat beds are built different, with necessarily stronger under frames. Better look close, to see how its built. Lee in Alaska

    Winter Starting

The surest and most portable engine starting device is a couple of joints of stove pipe with a 90 degree elbow on the end - then use a weed burner with a 20# propane tank. Stick the weed burner in the end of the stove pipe, with the elbow under the oil pan. It doesn't take long. But the system...

How does one actually get Alcohol into the brake system???

Air dryers are not fool proof either. Don't know the answer to your question Bjorn. Never had an air dryer. I did put 1.5 million miles on my civi truck here with just an alcohol snifter. They are a lot simpler! Lee in Alaska

    Not A STUD anymore

I prefer "vise grips" to a pipe wrench. I would use the one with the concave jaws. It will clamp down hard and stay clamped. Lee in Alaska

    M37/M43B1 engine weight

I don't know, right off, what the weight of the engine, alone is. The TM recommends that the engine, bell & transmission be pulled as a unit. Its not feasible, to do anything major to the engine, while it in the truck. Lee in Alaska

    air preasure regulator

The MV's with "air over hydrolic" brakes, usually don't run as high air pressure, as do the commercial trucks, with straight air brakes. Lee in Alaska

How does one actually get Alcohol into the brake system???

Disconnect your compressors out-put line, and pour some down it. Most of it will end up in the "wet tank" (1st tank), but it will do the same job for you. Just not as handy. Lee in Alaska

    Front Differential

Jawaller nailed it! When you rotate the drive line, your winding up all the slack to the front wheels/ splines/ball joints and all. Stick you finger in the lube oil, and look at it under a light - any sparklies in it? Then just drive it. Lee in Alaska

    M818 trip

Re: Farm Tags Only a few places give me receprocity for farm tags. I can haul my own stuff, purchased, or for sale, but I cannot haul "for hire". Otherwise, I have to comply with all the rest of the stuff. The main difference is that farmers cannot haul for hire. Its always safest to have a log...

    Engine oil pressure

Sometimes those electric guages, used on MV's, can drive you nuts. I don't like "Cheap" guages! They tend to give you Cheap results. Mechanical guages work on the principal of using the berdan tube. That fails, you have a direct oil leak that can dump your oil out on the ground in a few...

About to get my 1st Deuce, few ?'s

RE: About to get my 1st Deuce, few ? That's a big haul for a pickup, especially for that distance. I know Folks do it all the time, but I just think its too much for a pickup. I would think about driving it back - It would be a lot more fun, probably cheaper. If worse comes to worse, and you...
