    Headphones recommendations while driving Deuce

RE: Re: Headphones recommendations while driving Duece although it's useless to argue with a cop, the page of the manual declaring the requirement for hearing protection could be of some value if you run into an overzealous ijut.

M923A2 came home with me today!

That really is a nice find. I can see that while the deuce is more economical to purchase in drive-home condition, something like that is worth buying as-is and then expending some resources to get it fixed up. I almost got to drive one of them a few years back. The State guard wears the same...

help please with diesel generator add-on advice

RE: Re: RE: Genset noise The Onan, it is a very beautifully made unit. In many ways it is better than the smaller portables like mine, but there's just no place to mount such a beast.

    New Muffler Sounds Um.....

the pedal stop won't get you anything unless someone has messed with it. The turbo sounds like a cyclone whistle. I'd like to hear it going down the road accelerating at 50 MPH wide open.

    Major Mod's

I think 49.85 is an intercom frequency like for baby monitors and very cheap walkie talkies, or maybe one side of an old cordless phone link. You should have made some noise of your own!! ( who's that in there with the baby!!! ) Most likely, you may have heard one of these kind of wireless...

    Major Mod's

Hey M1009, I don't know how much you are into radio, so at the risk of posting to the choir, I can offer this: About the radios, if you are listening for ham activity, you would have to find a 6-meter FM net to find much going on. Hams use alot of SSB and other modes on 6M because FM is noisy...

help please with diesel generator add-on advice

RE: Genset noise Mine is not as noisy as that coleman, I can guarantee! I see that is a Coleman unit with the Acme ADX370 engine, it is not the same engine type at all as the one I have. I looked at those a few years ago and it is amazing how low the prices on some diesels have come, especially...

    MPG gains/radials,singles,Zenith,etc....

RE: Re: MPG gains/radials,singles,Zenith,etc.... Mileage "improvements" are usually small. A truck of this weight will not get any kind of "good" mileage without the help of Mr. Fusion. Tweeking for a place that puts the gasoline engine in the position where it produces the most torque is...

help please with diesel generator add-on advice

Here is dealing with the brake and air lines and electrical cables that run inside the frame there. For the rearmost mount, I placed a piece of rubber hose over the brake line to prevent it chafing against the bolt heads. The frontmost mount also needs to be checked to make sure the lines and...

    primary filter help needed.

I think the space under the filter, the bottom of the can, is where any water or large amounts of crud go, so you can drain them out before they fill up the can and go to the engine.

    5 Ton Engine Swap Question

It is very suspicious that the headgasket would blow twice in that one spot. Perhaps the deck is not straight? Twice could be a coincidence, but three times would be just about proof. Have you kept the old gaskets from before to examine? pictures would be good, and also images the new gaskets...
