Rules are rules. If the moderators (and site owner) choose to require that the location be posted ---> enough said. I don't think it is the end of the world if they don't post it, but who cares? Enforce the rules or we eventually have an uncontrollable board and everyone leaves!
Thanks Dieselsmoke. I think you may be talking about NorthTree Fire. They purchased a prototype 8x8 with independent suspension that was already configured for fire fighting. It was a precursor to the current TFFT. I posted the Oshkosh and NorthTree pics under a seperate post. Their webstie...
One more thought to ponder. At least two people thougt it was worth $7,000+ since somebody had to be outbid for it to get that high. These are not sealed bids you know.
I took a few pics over the weekend. A wildfire had engulfed several thousand acres of prairie and was cutting a swath about 2 miles wide. With the M1075 and 3000 gallons, it only took 14 minutes to shut down the headfire. The rest of the time was cleanup along the edges. Hope you enjoy!

Nice pics there. They show exactly what you need to (sans the bearings). If you are by yourself, the hour plus estimate you mention would be accurate. I had a helper or two.
Someone posted a diagram to show what was involved in flipping the hubs. I think it was monsterman. In this diagram, you are basically flipping part # 22. Notice how the offset would change and adjust the overall width of the axle. Once you open one up, you will get it. I might try to take...

I may have confused you. One truck has 900x20s mounted on split rims. The front two tires are radials and the rear 10 are NDCC. The other truck has Michelin XML 395/85R20s mounted on custom made 2-piece double beadlock rims. I could pull the super singles off and run stock 900x20s on...
